My agent said it's possible unless your husband will go within 5 years and stay over 2 years... which means if you go Aust on Jul 2017 and your husband must go before Jul 2022 ....and then stay for 2 years

I originally planned the same way too but finally whole family move cuz we wanna develop a closer family bonding when the kids are still young...
