Hi Nillie_Mami,
我用B2入境,K3 for what?? 我哋3個現係HK,我想我個仔先在HK讀書先,等大小小才返去讀書,本來我同小B 暑假返NY, but, may be delay my planing.你呢係美國結婚??how's age your kids? my son ages 5.
My cousin has green card and he went back to HK to work. I don't think he works in a US company in HK now but somehow (heard from my mom - may have missing info) he said he will need to pay US tax and waste money if he keeps his green card (less disposable income). Anyway, he gave up his green card now and just stay and work in HK for good. Just curious, if you (green card holder) have interest income (interest earn from your bank's saving account or stock etc) oversea, do you also need to pay those interest tax to US IRS?

唉...又一個只講到1半嘅故事, 你coworker 係同美國公司打工, 當然要W2 喇! plus 佢有冇話你知佢年尾會退稅, plus 所交嘅稅, 有一部份係佢嘅 SS退休金..and all others??
Different states have different tax law. I have to file tax return every year. If you stay in the US over 35 days per calendar year, you will need to pay tax. A few years ago, I had to fly back and forth between HK and NY every three months. Naturally, I had to file and pay tax. But the tax you paid in HK can be used as a tax credit in US.
For those mom's who wants to give birth in US, if you or your spouse is a US citizen, your child is entitled to get an American passport before he/she turns 18. You can apply in US Embassy in HK. Only condition is that you/your spouse provide proof of 5 years of physical presence in US. I got my son a US passport in HK last month. It only took a week to process and recieved his SS card in the mail today.

I guess your colleague has misunderstood something. The tax exemption of foreign income is really UD$80,000. I have been claiming that exemption for many years and so far, I have received no complaints from the IRS.
