Garumama打過去LetterLand問過,啱1歲以下BB的叫Tiny tots class,每堂2 hours, including 30 min Free play time, then Singing time, Snack time, Art time, Textile time, Physical play time, Story time, which each will be around 10-20 min.
我之前都對Baby Buddies有興趣,今日再打去問Michelle:
(1) Sat full of classes,冇辨法安排多一班,even包班都唔得。14 babies per class, Sunday off
(2) for trial class...need to wait till Oct, 2008
(3) $500 deposit is for waiting the actual class and can refund if not join finally
(4) Another $1200 deposit needed when you join their class and refund when leave
ayyy, Thank you. I guess we have the similar conversation to them.
Freesia_cat, it is okay for your questions. Sorry that am too hurry during lunch time, so maybe my answers are not that clear. Actually I already asked those questions in my call this morning.
1. I already asked what if we can 包班, but the owner still insists cannot arrange. And he not prefer to have class after 4pm, since he told me that his staff work only 8 hours per day and sunday off ...
2. 2 groups max for TRIAL class ar, since already have 14 babies in the group, so at most they can accomodate 2 more babies for trial only.
3. Even we just want to put our names under the waiting list for Sat Baby buddies class (真係參加), need to have a deposit of $500.
4. They have Saturday classes for Baby Buddies (i.e. 1-2yrs old), so maybe we can decide if we go to the trial class later.
1. Kindyroo: i've keep calling them since my daughter turned 2mths old (since they claim taking kids from 2mths & up), but they never have enough babies around her age (+/- 1month) to start the class...not until now in which she just turned 1/2 yr old today.
2. Baby buddies: they've got 3 campuses and i've taken my daughter for trial on both their Sheung Wan and Tin Hau last week. the charge is reasonable and yes, all their facilitator are native Brits. i like their sheung wan campus more since it's much newer (opened for 5mths only) and 1/3 bigger than Tin Hau. YET, the class is too long...the activities is not appropriate for babies at their age...basically they are taking the toddler class program for this young baby class. for the story time, their story book is too small...and having 10+ babies in a class is really too many (since they allow up to 2 adults/baby to attend), they can't focus well on the reading. and if babies getting too close/packed in a small area, air circulation will be an issue. their activities are really creative though (such as color instant noodles; playing with cooked macroni and paints; fresh cream..etc). alll these will make your baby wet & dirty...but it's good for our babies to exposed to all these new textures stuff. they suggest you to have all their clothes off except the nappy.
to conclude, i won't mind taking the trial class since it's free yet not appropriate at this stage.
what i've planned to do with my daugther (when she can walk), i shall send her to:
1. Leap Frog (at Sai Kung)
2. Victoria Playgroup
3. Baby buddies
4. Musikn' Motion
5. 1 gym class (panda junction/little gym/JWT)
hope all these info help.
you ladies may consider panda junction...the facility and cost are quite good and reasonable.
basically i've tried/site inspect most of the better quality playgroup/baby gym companiese in hk. feel free to ask if you have any enquiries.
Thanks for your information. You seems did lots of research already.
Are u full time mama? Just wonder why you plan to send daugther to so many classes. Or your maid will take her to the playgroup?
For my son, I also submitted the application for Victoria Playgroup in July. I am not sure whether there's seat when he's 1 yr old.
Freesia_cat, I heard some negative comment for Victoria Playgroup esp at HMT. That's why I still considering other playgroup like Tutor Time which provide pure eng environment for our kids. Their staff is nice and have quick respond .....I like it...
Btw, I called Victoria Fortress Hill center after I faxed the application. They said they will check whether they have received. But I haven't receive their call until now which is already after 2 months.
florence, where is panda junction? I only visited the gym centre at New World Centre. What's their different?
excuse me for not reply earlier as i was busy with elections for the past few days....
allow me answer you all here in this single msg.
yes...i did my research once i knew i was pregnant. and i read lots of parenting books and attend seminars...and talk with parents around.
I can't tell the difference b/t baby buddies & Victoria PG since i haven't got the chance for Victoria's trial yet. But Victoria has been the market leader since our years, i would guess they r quite structured. best bet is to give it a trial along with your little one. If you are a graduate of Victoria, pls state it in the app form and you may have a slightly higher chance for your little one to get in.
Why I plan to sign up different places for my daughter....i want her to face different environment, being connected with various nationalities and exposed to diverse programs at her young age...to train her up in diverse thinking and problem solving & social skills. also at the same time, both baby & i will be able to know which type of teaching method and environment will be more suitable for my daughter.
I'm not a full time mom but kind of close...i've my own biz and time for work is flexible. sometime i'm out for work for the whole day or sometime i spend my whole day with my daughter.
It's difficult to explain the difference of each gym/playgroup around here...comments can be very subjective. best bet is to site visit there yourself and sign up their trial class with your little one.

So being with Victoria PG before will really give higher chance for babies to get into better schools? I didn't know that. I just heard others said Victoria PG is good and so I put Ethan onto the waiting list.
Maybe I should keep Ethan to go to both Baby Buddies and Victoria PG, if time allows, and anyway have to see how long is the waiting list for Victoria HG as they didn't tell me before, even I asked.
I've called Victoria for asking the PG waiting list before, the lady said that it should be ok to have seat on next April (our child must be 1yr old and can walk), I also want to attend one more playgroup with my son, maybe we can exchange more info with other mummies!
