I use 400D + 24-105 lens.

Problem 1 -
What I see from the view-finder is not exactly what I get. I form the picture nicely through the view-finder, but from the LCD playback, the picture is wider (covers more area than what I see on the view-finder). Why? and is there a problem with the camera?

Problem 2 -
The picture I form is fine on the view-finder. But on the LCD, it shows it is sometimes distorted by a small angle to the left. Is it a lens problem or camera problem? How to fix?

The camera is fine. The viewfinder is fine.

Make sure you understand some of the basics of viewfinder...

Oh I see. I thought it is 100% coverage, but now I know it is not.

How about the picture being a little distorted? Something wrong with my camera or the lens?

影象出現變形, 係因為支鏡的問題, 尤其在wide果面

唯有用software 去修正
(or 儘量唔用 24mm)

But my case is not like that.
I mean when I shoot a horizontal line (and I see it being horizontal in the view-finder), on the LCD and the actual picture, the line will not be horizontal, but whole line will be tilted to the left by a few degrees. It is as if I have tilted the camera.

It happens when is lens is at 24 - 105mm, not just at 24mm.

What could be the problem?

better take it to the customer centre for a check up
