I have several platinum cards,
though I have no income at all,
nowadays platinum card is just like gold card in the past,
the most prestigious card has been "black" card for a while,
but I also heard of a "white" card seems above the black card.

Oh i am not rich at all
actually bank's issurance of card also base on card holder's spending amount, repayment ability and past history. i admit i have good credit history though.

I also have numerous platinum card. Nowadays no one will foolish to pay annual fee for credit card. All are free. My HSBC card got limit of 280000 each month. HSBC gift scheme sometimes is very attractive. But it depends whether you like this gift.
