my bb boy is almost 2 months old and I've been feeding him with direct feeding, expressed breast milk + formula. Since I don't have enough milk, I only can express 2 oz milk / time ...
I direct feed him in the morning, and then express the milk out in the morning, afternoon, and night. If i express the milk too frequent, it won' have 2 oz milk each time.
I read a lot of post saying in order to increase the milk supply, I should express / feed him more freqently?? So, should I express milk every 3 hours .. even thou it might only get 1 oz or less each time????
I will be going back to work soon... I want to express milk during work... how often should I do it during work hours in order to maintain milk supply??

----> yes, this help to increase supply

-----> it depends on your own work schedule, if possible, every 4 hrs, i.e. twice during work time suppose you work 8 hrs.
by the way, do u drink a lot of fish soup/milk/soya milk to increase milk supply?
if I express milk twice during work, do I need to bring 2 bottles and 2 pumps back to work? or I can express milk in the same bottle? since I only have one manual pump... (got a rented electrical pump at home)... do I need to get one more manual pump then?
I drank 1-2 glasses of milk everyday.. .and papaya fish soup and pig feet soup daily alternatively for a month, but doesn't seem to increase the supply a lot...
you pump 2 breasts at the same time? but the manual one, no need to use one hand to hold the bottle and one hand to pump ?
compare with electric pump, does manual pump require more effort to pump the same amount?? I want to minimize the time to express milk at work later.... if manual pump takes longer, I will get a electronic one instead......
tabodaisy,
which brand pump are you using now ? Oh.. if not pumping in the toilet during office hour.. I don't know whereelse we can express milk at work....
15-20mins for one breast? hm... am I spending too little time.. currenlty (at home), I am pumping 15-20 mins for both breasts ... usually they got drained out (at least they seems to be to me) already......
will I got more milk if I extend the pumping time??? would that help??
