BB shoe problem

dear all:

my BB starting walk at this month, how to select shoe for BB walking, for example: the shoe's bottom select hard material or soft??

In my experience,soft is better than hard.Hard is easy to fell down.Also,wider is better(it dosen't mean longer)The shoe's bottom is flexible is better too.
