normally we use washroom, restroom.
they never use the word toilet because it is refereing to 馬桶.

washroom
bathroom
powder room
restroom

More formal (but rarely use when talking):
lavatory
water closet (WC)

More informal:
toilet
loo
the gents/ladies

No offense but I heard some Americans said "toilet" when they went to use it. May be men don't care much on the term.

Also heard a Westerner asking staff for "comfort room" in the HK Disneyland, but none of the staff understood. I've checked it out and it is also correct.

係呀!'toilet'係好粗架，類似'屎坑'、'公廁咁嘅意思，係我個仔話我知。
