I am interested in 高速煲 as well. I have a 4.5L 真空煲 which bought when I married. I think that pot is good for working couples. As I am going to have my second baby, I expect the 4.5L 真空煲 can no longer cater for my family needs. There is promotion for WMF 高速煲 in Sogo, they offer $1650 for a 6.5L pot plus a 3L pan, but only 1 pressure cooker lid is attached. I found it quite attractive. However, I have some concerns here:
1) The sales promoted that main benefit for 高速煲 is save of fuel and time. They claim that it can cook a ‘lo fo’ soup within 35 minutes and stew beef brisket within 25 minutes, does it really work? It take me at least 3 hours to cook a ‘lo fo’ soup now.
2) how’s the food quality compare with the one cook with normal pot over the stove? Will it damage the taste and nutrients of the food?
By the way, I already got a normal Kinox 6.5L pot now, do u think it’s worth to buy this WMF set. Thanks for your kind help.
Hi All,
I finally made up my mind and bought the WMF 6.5L pressure cooker set last Sat, I tried it last night, it’s perfect. I made soup with carrot, corn, chestnut and pork shank bone (i.e. a bundle of pork shank with a big bone inside) within 55 minutes. I started at 7:40 with all ingredients put in under cold water. The soup gets boiled in 20 minutes with the pressure lock rise. I then turned to lowest heat for 35 minutes and stop the heat. I took the soup at 11:45 pm (because I went out for dinner), it was still very hot and delicious. My husband and me both feel that no need to add salt as it is so sweet that no further flavor was needed. It was so different from the soup that made by my maid who claimed has spent over 2 hours to cook. We are so happy with the pot and my husband expects we can save sufficient fuel costs to cover the pot cost within half year.
Special thanks to Elina’s advice so that I have the confidence to buy this cooker. Hope we can share more on this.
N.B. I am not a WMF pressure cooker sales but really wants to share my excitement last night when I saw the magic effect of the pot. I am not sure whether WMF is the best but I really trust this brand since I bought a small pot (normal stainless steel) in Town Gas Avenue last year for cooking baby food last year, the quality of steel was very good.
