One man's meat is another man's poison. I have a number of Dr. Seuss' books, including "The Cat in the Hat" and "Green Eggs and Ham". My child has not the least interest in them. Yes, the rhymes are silly and humorous, but I find them not natural enough. I think Dr. Seuss has invented many new words himself to make his works rhyme. For example, the word "Ying". May any one tell me what it means? I couldn't find it in any dictionary.
For nursery rhymes, I prefer the Queen to the King, i.e. Mother Goose to Dr. Seuss.
