Did you see the Angsana Resort, is it beautiful?
Actually, I wanted to stay at Angsana in my last trip as well but my agent told me that it was fully booked and then I swop to Nirwana. (I think it is not true but perhaps a matter in relation to price and commission.:-P ) In my trip, I hadn't gone into Angsana but passed it on the way to pick up a Japanese family to a mangrove tour. The lobby is quite small but very clean and well maintained. You may check the following websites for further details on Bintan and Angsana:

I traveled with my daughter at 3.5 years old who needed to drink milk too. We boiled hot water with the boiler provided to each room. The hotel claims that the tap water is of the same standard of Singapore. Should you need distilled water, you may easily find it inside the hotel, either in the small souvenir shops or the hotel restaurants. There is also a local market called Pasar Oleh Oleh where you can find a supermarket. Pasar Oleh Oleh is located very close (about 10-minute drive) to the resort area and you may take a shuttle bus from your hotel to reach there.
Nirwana has a clear water private beach where hotel guests can see coral reef and fishes. We even found starfish when we walked along the beach during low tide. The coral reef is not so colourful as it is located very close to the beach. The sand is however the finest I ever meet. I think Angsana has a private beach too. Mosquito is unavoidable if we want to back to the nature but the situation is manageable if you have蚊怕水, 蚊貼.
My own experience is that a small child will have a high fever under very hot weather. Don't forget to bring some medicines for the trip. My mother's wisdom is to bring a bottle of water from HK and mix with the local water if traveling aboard. This is a good way to prevent 水土不服. I take her advice each time and it works.
