I am also planning to immigrate to Australia and working in HA now.
I would like to ask some questions related to ahpra and ANMAC:
For the ahpra,
-we need to hand in the continuous professional development documents. However, some of hospital training certificates are uploaded via the intranet. Therefore, can I use the printed certificates for certification? If not, how?
For the ANMAC,
-whom did you ask for writing the professional reference letter? Ward manager? APN? CND? HR?
Ahpra, a letter from HR which state your working experience is good enough, for professional development, i think other than speciality trainning, say renal nurse, ICU nurse, otherwise the short course s are useless.
for anmac, i asked my GMN to sign the reference letter for me since work un CND, if in ward setting, WM or DOM are good enough to sign, be reminded than you boss will not have time to draft for you and fullfill the requirment. i draft myself and just ask my boss to amend and sign.
For the professional reference letter, can I ask an APN to sign it. To be frank, I am unwilling to disclose my application to my WM and DOM. So any other suitable person recommend?
Also, I found that the HR department was quite unhelpful. The HR staff kept on refusing to add numbers of working hours in the statement of practice. They also claimed that they were not responsible for completing any information related to nursing clinical practice in any letters or forms.
I am not sure whether this situation applies to all clusters?
Oh sure HR will not help you to state the hour breakdown, I just request them to state different speciaties I worked, say, M&G, Sur, ICU..etc...
According to my understanding, direct supervisor is good enough to sign the referrence letter.
Most of the cases I knew, they did come to Australia to confrim the registration, almost None of them I knew need to do bridging course which is either from Hong Kong nursing school or hong kong\'s uni
