I've been Phuket over 10 times, we love this place very much. Good food, nice people, lovely sunshine & beautiful beaches. We buy the package all the time
except last april cause we did it in seperate booking is cheaper than package by HK agency. We stays at Kamala Bay terrace and we buy the air ticket from Wing On travel (OX) just 1,330 + 258 (tax) and through internet (sawadee.com) book the hotel @360 per day include breakfast. We stayed there 13days but still not enough to enjoy all........ 打中文的很難. sorry!

Sheraton Laguna is good, I've been there and try Dusit, allamanda, sheraton also. On my own opion,
if u go with kids, allamanda suite is better than the other hotel in standard type, except u take the villa in
Sheraton. But don't worry, just relaxe and enjoy all the facility at laguna, windsurf, kayaking, bic ride ($$)
swimming etc...... by the way, u can ask for laguna
resort hopping, so that u can know all 5 hotel's different and which one you like the best and come next time for choose. Khai island is good for crown fish feeding and kids like it most. Island Safari now is most commercial feel, 4 in 1 that mean elegant trekking, monkey climb-tree, bufferlo riding and jeep to up and down the hill side. Not really attractive but
the kids will love it. How many days u will stays at phuket? If u go by private, I can give u some good advise to eat and play but not for group-time limited.
Self driving really fun and usefull at Phuket.

I'll be going to Phuket with my 2 kids (one aged 3.5 and the other 18 months) by the end of July. We'll be staying in Marriott for 3 nights and Sheraton for another 3 nights. Can you give any advise where we can eat or play, apart from the hotel? Have you stayed in Marriott before? I knew that it is quite isolated and don't know whether there are any good and reasonable restaurants near the hotel.
Actually I am quite hesitated to bring my younger daughter along, since it's quite troublesome for caring such a young kid abroad, but my husband insisted to bring her along. I am worrying what should I prepare for her meals and should I need to bring distilled water to Phuket? Please advise.

J.W Marriott is really far from down town - Phuket town and Patong, and their beach not suitable for swim. I've been there last Sept, the resort really beautifull and the room quite big together with the open bathroom, romantic for couple. the inroom sala for kids ok lar. They have free shuttle from/to
phuket town and Patong, u must book advance when
u go in peak season. Don't worry, phuket is a tourism city, u can buy the distilled water, drinking water in 7-11, all around. Many tourist bring their kids or infants travel in phuket, it's ok, really ok for family, it's sure! From May - Oct, Phuket' weather is
shower all the time, u bring with a umbrella will more safety to protect yr kids, by the way, the uncle Sunny will come again quickly together with rainbow, why don't u enjoy the shower bring u cool-there will be very hot at summer time................About the meals, if u can't take spicy u will loss fun 50%. for kids, they can eat fried noodle or hamburger, pizza, sandwiches in most restaurant. So, u can dinning with yr honey for thai dishes and yr kids in pizza with coke, happy together.

Yes, u can exchange a part of money HK-Baht when
u arrival at Phuket airport. the rate is not too different at down town teller. maybe 20-30baht +-
in HK$1000. HK1 / @5.12baht. Most high rate exchange in Patong area or phuket town(robinson
dept store).
Restaurants recommend:-
1. Thai style restaurant - Patong open seafood restaurants like 大排don. hotel paradise 對面. very easy to find.
2. At laguna area, there have few restaurants just set on the right beach side. good food, good price,and good atmosphere. highly recommended.
3. sunset point is a great restaurant in between Patong and kamala, at the hill top for dinning with the sunset sea view, fantastic.........
4. promthep cape - sunset view point. u can see the whole sun totally drop into the sea, while the sky in red to orange to purple.... colourfull. there also have a restaurant there, reasonable price + fresh air. U can hire a tuktuk half day include this place, about 600baht, of course u must bargain and gain it. remember don't pay advance otherwise u will loss yr back trip and have air in yr stomach. :-P

I'm not an expert but my friends says Phuket is my
'鄉下', We love Phuket very much, maybe she brings me too many good memerial for us. Beside, it's a various place to go!
Whick airlines u take? KA or OX? Anyway, two flight will arrival Phuket in the evening. so, first day nothing to do just relaxe and settle down. 3 of u can dinning on the beach - thai food.. curry crab, prad-thai (thai style fried noodle) .弓車濫吧(照字讀就係生蝦次身), 靠曲革別(照字讀就係蝦醬抄飯),mango shake (正) or lime shake(至解渴).
no need to bring water cause u can buy it at 7-11 and supermarket. mosquito spray, suntan lotion,cap, sunglass are "must".
always keep in smile and polite, if u can 合十雙手when u say 'sawadee ka' (krab for men) mean hello to local people, u will get very good feed back. And never touch their head or hair, it's important.
day 2. just walk around the laguna area, use shuttle boat for resort hopping, than swim at sheraton's swimming pool, that's more suitable for kid and have a pool side lunch - pizza, quite good! play canoe or learn how to windsurf, u must check the time table at hotel activities board, everyday different programme. Wow............ u will feel tired after whole day on sport with kid. haha........ Take a light dinner at sheraton, there's always have a thai cultural show
at the restaurant. price ok lar.
Day 3. do your package include half day tour? if no this free, u must take taxi (tuktuk) to Patong or Phuket town for walk around - shopping and join day 4 tour. then have your traditional thai dinning at Patong open area seafood restaurant, have a nosy night.
Day 4. Take a Khai island day tour (8 am to 5 pm)
the tour include hotel/island transfer, insurance, lunch,soft drinks..@baht750/adult, 500/kid (i'm not sure for kid). u must buy this tour on day 3.
Day 5. If u take OX u must to wake up early, nowhere to go. But KA fight at evening so that u can enjoy the hotel facility and relaxe..............
back to HK.
