I have read your posts and answers to BK Moms which are helpful and I appreciate your sinsere response to us very much. Here is my enquiry about extension of Visa for my Indonesian maid:
In Oct 2003 my contract with the Indonesia maid expired and I renewed the contract with her. After that I let her go back to Indonesia for her holidays for 14 days. When she returned to HK her passport was stamped and noted something like "allowed to stay in HK until Nov 2005 to work for XXXX". Just now I request her to let me have a look at her passport but she said she has given it to her agent who will do the visa extension with the Indonesian Consulate. Isn't the extension of Visa completed after she has returned from Indonesia? Is this step (taking the passport to the Indonesian Consulate) necessary? I'm afraid she has used the passport to do something else like borrowing money. Pls advise. Thanks a lot.
依你所講，從passport上你已看到"allowed to stay in HK until Nov 2005 to work for XXXX"即你的工人可以於香港工作兩年,其實你工人passport應該不是需要exten,因為香港的外傭合約是為期兩年的。你工人的passport現時應該是由你的agent保管。
Agent keep起工人的passport可能為了避免工人用passport去借錢。而agent可能為免工人知道或誤會便以這個原因告訴工人。如果有需要,你可以聯絡你的agent查詢情況。

我家印傭 Nov 6 約滿而visa expired at same day，她說回家結婚不再打工，而我因不滿現在agency態度，到現在還未開始找agency。另我剛在入境處網看到好像可以延長張約around 1-3 months with special reason,可否告知是否正確??如果不可以，我印印問可否訂 Nov 7air ticket, 因她想Sunday走，未知是否違例??
I still have some problem. My maid's contract is ended on 29th October 2004, she tell me that she will leave on 15th October.
1) How about the 14 days left
2) Is this legal?
3) I owe her 9 days annual leave
4) Do I need to ask her to write me down the letter for early termination of the contract, or she count her 14 days annual leave. But actually she only get remaining 9 days only!!
5) I wrote her a reference letter, but she request me to write another one - release letter to immigration dept. What is the purpose?
I just got unhappy thing with my maid and so want to make it very clear!!!!!!!!! Pls advise.
Can you tell me what is the standard holidays for Indo maids? Do they have no-paid holidays for the first 3 months? And do they take one day off per week? Thanks.
