I'm the kind of employer don't like to scold people. But I find it may not be effective. The first holiday of my maid was late for 40 mins. I just smiled and asked any problem. I guessed maybe she didn't familiar w/ the traffic since it is the first time she came to HK. She was punctual on the 2nd holiday. However, she was late again on the third holiday for almost 2 hours. That time I seriously told her that was the last time. No more late was allowed. Unluckily she stayed outside overnight 1.5 month after arrival. She said she got drunk and could not come back. I was extremely angry that time and almost fired her that time. I gave her warning letter finally.
