I think the education is US (especially in CA) sucks, unless you're in at the top private school.

If I had a choice, I would rather had my kids at least gone to elementary school in HK to have a better foundation!

My younger kid will be going to kindergarten next year, so I just tried to check out two of the three public elementary schools in our school district. I was kinda disappointed although they're supposed to be in one of the top school districts in CA.

I can say Union city ( i think it is near holland tunnel ) which is close to NYC chinatown, just cross the tunnel. i am not familiar there, u can come and take a tour first.Uptown Manhattan is a very big area ( like from 59t to 200 st,), I don't think I live at the same area as your bro's home.
I live close to Washington Height.
if you want to choose good school, you can search the Blue ribbon area online.

Yes, because my kids' cousins, I know it very well, they go to school till 6 pm everyday, and go to academy on sunday, only sat will stay home, you can see, the kids have no play time!!

我响East Bay,個囡就嚟讀Grade 1.
當諗吓個入u嘅制度，家長就應該明白，亞洲家長做咩我哋都唔可以鬆懈。大部分亞裔都係移民，大家或多或少都會為子女有更好前途先响度，上一代付出咁多，點會唔谷啲細路呀？呢度嘅競爭因為圈子細，所以我覺得更勁！
又因為公校係小朋友自求多褔，睇個老師好唔好，hea唔hea,我自己做家長仲大咗壓力，會諗自己個囡究竟嗰班度算叻定唔叻...唉o(︶︿︶)o
