Just to share my experience with the ex-helper fired by me: after couple weeks' work, asked for early release of salary for her daughter's medical expenses. 1-2 months later, asked for HK$6,000 loan for her son's tuition (I lent it and asked her to pay me back by instalments). And then, several other excuses to borrow more or delay repayment to me... Several months later, I realized that she had borrowed from 3-4 financial institutions when collectors kept calling my home phone in the evening and on Sunday. I fired that helper in around 10 months.
In short, for my case, my ex-helper will borrow from the banks/finance companies no matter I lend her money or not.
By the way, please be reminded that don't lend helper too much money. Someone I know once lent HK$30,000 to her helper who changed to a terrible person after receiving the money. She forced her employer to fire her immediately so that she didn't need to repay the loan.
$2000 is just a beginning....If she asks you, she should have lent money from $ company already....勸你唔好借喇...and tell her you will fire her if she borrow money from outside. See what her reaction is...
