KKcandy, I have a little trick which you might want to try.
I will cook the congee for around 1/2 hours to 45 minutes, then I will blend the congee to make it very soft. My baby likes it very much especially when I cook the congee with cod fish and pumpkin.
Congee cooking: Soak rice with water for about 3-4 hours. Then add the rice into the boiled water. Turn the stove to low heat and cook it with cover on the top. About half an hour or 45 minutes later, take away the cover and stir it for 15 minutes.
Add with meats or veggie: cut some meat and one or two pieces vegetables, boil them first. Then blend those ingredients with water. Add them into the congee and stir.
Ah Maksin your idea is very good ! I will try it tomorrow. But what kind of meat you will give to your baby. Last week, I gave some chicken & papaya as fruit to my son and his little face turned red within a couple of hours. The doctor said he might be allergic to these two new kinds of food. :-P
