2) Apart from airfare, you need to pay for
- travel allowance on the date of departure and return ($100 per day, so total $200)
- Airport tax for the return trip, indonesia - HK(this was not included in airfare), $100HKD
3) Originally I purchased Garuda for my maid, but she insisted not taking that because she did not want to transit in Jarkarta, she said customs in Jarkarta always asked for a lot of under table money. She was willing to take other airline such as Cheung Wing. But at the end I paid for CX because I wanted her to be able to bring more things home (only Garuda and CX allow up to 35KG of baggage, other restrict to 20KG). CX is direct, Garuda I believe has to transit in Jarkarta for few hours.
4. I bought from Wing On, if my memory does not fail me the cost for CX was 32xx (Dec. 23/04). Make sure she gets a stamp on her passport from indonesia consulate before she goes home, otherwise indonesia customs will not let her exit the country.
5. You can take her for contraceptive needles provided she agrees to it. But she will need to have two shoots to be effective (i.e. take the shoot two months in a row), check with your family physician.
I did not give her advance payment, only her salary, annual leave and public holiday entitlements (which add up to almost 2/3 monthly pay) and couple hundred extra. I also bought her chocolate to take home.
