I totally understand what you feel. My dad was diagnosed had lung cancer before I left HK. He passed away just before I finished Uni. Didn't get chance to see his last face!
call and ask immigration again, don't forget to record the conversation for future use.
If your baby obtained the HKSAR passport next year, please come back to BK to tell us so we all will go back to apply HKSAR passport to our babies/kids!
Appreciated if you could tell us your name & personal details etc so we can quote to the immigration for reference.

Yeah, it is so sad.
My husband has flown to HK now, though my 99 scolded him wasting money, I think it is a wise decision. I hope my 62's condition is stable, then I would bring the kids to HK in December.
as far as I know, because your hubby is a PR and your baby is an Australia citizen when he is born in Australia. Therefore, in the china one citizenship policy, your baby should not be able to get HKSAR passport. Unless your hubby is also a TR, then, make the story different.
anyone please correct me if I am wrong!
well, sure it's case by case, mine is a general rule...hope you can get it. We all want to do the best to our kids. Good luck.

不過我問入境處時,佢講明我係要未成為PR or Citizenship前要為BB申請,一旦入左藉就唔能夠,所以BB係靠我未成為PR時才申請到PASSPORT,唔知你地適唔適合呢個CASE~ ...
