I like to buy wooden toys to my daughter as the quality is usually better & the texture is good for kids.
i usually buy it from a toy shop called Little Beetles at 9/F Times Square. (It also have branch in New World Ctr at TST). It has lots of choices of different price range & variety.
I also bought from Sogo, Dymocks, Kiss my Kids.
Some wooden toy brands which made in Thailland is of good quality & reasonsble price.
Wooden blocks are very good toys to inspire the creativity of kids.
I did buy some from Tai Yuen Street, Wanchai. The wooden toys there are usually made in China. The quality is not so good but it's ok if you foresee that yr kid may just lay that game for a little while & not worth buying the durable ones. For blocks which kids can play at different ages, I chose the good quality ones.

Glad to hear that my recommendations are good. Did u buy anything from Little Beetles? I think their product are very educational & of course of good quality.
I really love wooden toys & so I bought quite a lot for my daughter.
