Pre-K Application Deadline is April 8 If you haven’t submitted an application yet, you still have time. The application deadline for public school pre-k programs is Friday, April 8. Applications and the Pre-Kindergarten Directory are available online, or you can pick them up at a borough enrollment office.
School Visits
We encourage you to visit schools of interest. This will help you determine the travel time from your home or workplace. Keep in mind that transportation is not provided by the Department of Education for pre-k students. Also, visiting the school will give you an opportunity to speak with staff and administrators.
Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
Community-based organizations are private pre-school centers that partner with the City to provide free half-day and full-day pre-k programs to families. Just like public school pre-k programs, CBOs are required by the City to provide high-quality, standards-based services that promote school achievement for all students. CBO programs manage their own application process. You can download the CBO application and submit it directly to CBO programs of interest. For more information about CBOs, contact the programs directly. You can find a list of CBO programs in the Pre-Kindergarten Directory.
