It depends if you need to carry it around. If you are looking for a desktop replacement, you better get one with a bigger display.
I have a 700m and I think it is quite portable.
It has a very good display.
The keyboard and display are a bit small but I got used to it now.
Dell sells 700m for as low as $5900. I think it is a good bargin. But make sure you get one with a DVD-RW and as much hard disk and memory as you could afford.
The screen for 700M is only 12.1" and the 9300 is 17".
The graphic card of 700M is shared memory, that means the memory will be reduced from your system memory, 9300 is using a separate graphic memory.
If you have price concern, you should select 700M or if you are looking for a Desktop replace 9300 will be better.
I am installing the 700M for my colleague, the screen is good, but the keyboard is small.
Of course, I remember you. For desktop replace, I didn't recommend the small screen laptop. The reasons are.
The small screen the keyboard for small screen laptop is always small. For lady is ok, fFor me this is not acceptable.
I didn't try all models of Dell, I tried, the Inspiron 600M and 700M, the 600M is old model when compared with 700M, The screen is a little bit bigger 14.1". It will be very tired for you to concentrate in your small screen.
I checked with the configuration, everything is almost the same except the video, unlike 700M, 600M is not using share memory.
I bought several 600M for PRC's colleague and 700M for frequently traveller for PRC's colleague.
BTW, the case is not included in the package, also floppy drive is not included.
Hi ericmoy,
Sorry to interrupt. I would like to have a notebook with 15”mon. Do you think Inspiron 6000 a good choice? Is it worth an extra $500 for updating the LCD from XGA to SXGA?
