This plan 的保費會隨著通脹add 5% each year。 Based on my husband’s premium so far, he paid HK$2,000 on average each year for the past 9 years. I reviewed the 危疾 terms included in the policies. I find that they will only pay when you are seriously ill (i.e. nearly die) or for some other危疾, you are extremely hurt, e.g. lost eyesight of both two eyes, lost 2 legs, etc. Now I consider not to continue the 危疾保險。 My reasons are that:
- Our health so far is quite good and that the 危疾保險is just provided to us for up to 65 years old
- It seems not worth that they will deduct the same amount of payment from the life insurance benefit
- As I said, they will only pay when the insured nearly die. So when I nearly die, I prefer not to accept any treatment but just wait to die and leave the money for my family.
- For the other 嚴重傷害 e.g. lose eyesight or legs, etc., the probability may be not high. Even I am so unlucky, I can still rely on my own money. Then should I continue to 供危疾保險as the money paid before earns nothing.
請問有冇保險經紀給我中肯意見,are there any other factors that I missed?
(sorry, 我的中文typing is too bad, so some English, some Chinese.)
Thanks for your prompt reply. You are right to point out that 醫學是日新月異, lots of diseases can be cured in future. Therefore, it is difficult to say whether the 保額夠唔夠. To me, I will say that the保額 is never enough because of the advancement in healthcare and thus it must be very expensive to recover from危疾in future. Based on my husband’s plan, his 保額 is now about HK$450,000. So, most likely it is not enough.
Another concern is the restriction of “65 years”. Based on his family / his relative’s history and my family/my relative’s history, I feel that we should still be healthy before 65. So I think that it is not worthwhile to pay for 危疾 as the保額 is such a small amount (or may be it is already good enough when compared with other plans offered by other insurance companies) and that it can protect us up to 65 years old only. Of course, you may say that I am too optimistic because Hong Kong is getting worse – the air pollution, the food, etc. or one may be easily involved in an accident and may lose legs, arms, etc. But is the probability high? That’s why I still have not made any decision yet. Anyway, thanks for your comment.
