I recently crashed my husband's E240 into the back of a big long truck, our car's front left was damaged. The driver of the truck didnt feel the crash at all and kept going. Me and my little girl were ok, she was in the car seat at the back. It costed a fortune to have the damage fixed and the insurance company paid most of it. Took almost 3 weeks to have the car repaired and I had to take my girl to school by public transport for that 3 weeks. I am driving again now and just try to stay calm, be very careful and observant. It was really an experience and a big lesson for me!!
thanks vvnpo
this is my 1st year of driving, my husband didnt have a go at me at all, he only thought my daughter and I were safe and didnt get hurt was the best out of this incident.

we rented a Toyota picnic for 1 week, costed about HK$3000, not so cheap.
I would buy a new car, coz at least you will have the guarantee from the manufacturer. Also if you buy a second hand cars, there is no guarantee that the car is in good condition.
for most of the new cars, safety can be judged by whether the car has passed safety test. the european std is ncap while the japanese equivalent is j-ncap. highest score for ncap is 5 star, j-ncap is 6 star. i drove a z4 before but due to new baby arriving, had changed to a new a3. now he is 2 months old and we just bought another new stream because of the 6-star rating.
i had not bought 2nd hand cars since 04 due to potential problems although i have friends in the car trade business.
a class is definitely easier to sell than jazz when you want to change car later. another european brand to consider which has good safety and equipment is vw.
would you try to consider Colt of Mitsubishi? My husband drove it for over a year and it is OK. We have consider Jazz before but we think that we can use same price to buy Jazz & Colt but the "car year" of Colt is more new.
