If you will have c-section, there are many factors that you may not be able to breatsfeed immediately:
1) its the hosptal policy that, for security reason and for the sake of the bb (the temperature inside and outside the bb room is different and so it's not good for the bb's health to go in and out of the bb room), the only way to feed the bb is go to the 育嬰室 in person,
2) you usually will have to stay on the bed until the anesthesia has lost its effect and this may take hours after the operation. That means you cannot go to the 育嬰室 immediately after the c-section and until you can leave your bed,
3) it usually take 2-3 days for mum who did c-section to have their breast milk ready for bb,
4) if you are thinking of using breast pump to pump your milk for bb on your bed and pass to the nurse to feed the bb, it's not allowed to do so as it is concern that the milk will have bacteria that may pass to the bb. They do have breast pump in the 育嬰室 for you to pump your milk though but then again you will have to have a chance to leave your bed to do so.
So the nurse suggested me to request for cup feeding formula to bb during the time we are not able to breastfeed so that bb won't have nipple confusion.
i attended the breastfeeding lessons. They told me that it's impractical to pump your breast for milk in the first few days. Imagine that you actually only have a few drops of milk and when you using the pump the milk just flow to the pipe. So the most effective way is to go and feed by yourself.
I guess I will have to go to the nursery room every 2-3 hours. My friend told me that you will have strength to "complete the mission" at that time as with your "mama power".
