I prefer her to walk herself.. however, she won't walk much.. she will ask for hold after walking few steps. Also, I will depends on the environment.. if it is good for her to walk, I will encourage her to walk rather than to hold her, but I must do many silly gestures or faces to attract her. And my daughter doesn't like to sit on her BB車, unless she has slept.
He started walking at 12 months and we made him walk on the streets at 13 months. At first, he cried his eyes off and kneeled on the pavement, but he was fine by the 3rd try. Now he can walk a long distance, but we always bring a stroller in case he gets tired. He never gets tired if there are things for him to play with. He touches everything along the way.
My motto is: if he does not like it, try and try again untill he is used to it
