I believe seeking a 2nd opinion can help you to confirm the seriousness of your wife's case. I learn from so many experiences that different doctors can tell totally different stories. But senior or experience doctors can really help a lot and can make the result different! Which hospital is your wife staying? Make sure it's a large one and with good facilities. And check with other doctors, say private clinics'.
Don't worry too much. I also came across a very bad experience. There are lots of even worse stories outside...Just do best whatever you can and no regret after all...
