ear test at hospital

my new born baby did 2 times ear test (OAE test) at the hospital, and failed the tests. Now the hospital send me to the special hospital (at Lai King) for further examination. Any experience to share? So worry.

我個女都檢查過二次唔合格係健康院，之後send去專科(係油塘)test着無事。醫生話新生儿有胎水係耳仔重未清所以test会failed。唔使太worry。

but my baby is 7 weeks already, will she still have 胎水係耳仔未清? How old is your baby when taking the 2 tests?

第一次係5weeks，第二次係8weeks。如果唔係家族遺傳就唔使擔心一定無事。

thanks - hope she pass the test next time. Doctor says if not pass the test then possibly by 9 months old have to wear hearing aid.

My baby now is 4 months old. He did 2 times test at Hunghom clinic, but failed. I think the machine for testing is a little bit stupid. Sometime ok, sometime not ok because it says my baby noise (sometime BB make sounds because of their breathing). I lose my temper for 2nd time testing because the nurse seems not posfessional. Finally they asked us to Kowloon hostiptal for further testing, and then passed. So, don't worry!

Thanks for all the responses and support. My baby did 2 tests and failed, and now they sent us to the Lai King special clinic for further testing, but the nurse says have to wait for up to 6 months later to do the test, as there are lots of people waiting.

So we take bb to the private doctor and did the test again, and she failed also! So that's why we are so worry now.

Kwan Lui, how old is your bb when do the third test at Kowloon Hospital? Are they using the same small mobile machine for the third test, or use something else? Thanks !!
