My baby woke up once or twice for midnight feeding and starting at 6 months, we gave him water to replace formula. I was hoping that would help him to gradually not need anymore liquid and sleep through the night afterward. BUT, he actually wakes up 4-5 times now!! We continue to give him water but he doesn't seem to be able to fade that out. I am exhausted, please advise what I can do, much appreciated!!
did he play too much in the day time?
For my daughter, if she plays too much in the day time, she may cry and ask us to hold her for 2 or 3 minutes, and then, she can sleep again.
It always happen on Sat and Sun since we always bring her out on that two days.
That's a good point, thanks! I didn't pay attention if he wakes up more often on the weekend / a day of fun but he wakes up at least 2-3 times on average. What can I do?
When I read many different books, it said 80% of babies waking up at the night are due to hunger. If you are very confident that he is not waking up due to that then just leave him cry until he is tired
I think you should look into the full day meal plan, not just the last meal, If the baby takes enough in the day time, he won't be waking up in the middle of the night.
I think your baby is hungry, and you might have to add more milk not only the last milk but at other milk time too. my baby now eat 2 times Congee n 3times milk. morning n afternoon she usually drink 210ml n last milk around 180ml
