Since I don't have much breastmilk for each time of pump, only 1-2 oz, is it ok to save from the 1st pump in storage bag, then put in lower part of refrigerator. Add some more from 2nd & 3rd time of pump to the same bag. Then frozen the bag in freezer? Otherwise, I need to use 3 bags for the 3 times of pump.

我自己懶, 就分三個袋.
不過如果不想浪費奶袋, 冰奶可以這樣:

第一包泵好放入冰格
第二包泵好, 先放下格凍半小時, 再加入第一包放冰格,
第三包泵好, 也要放下格凍半小時, 再加入上格的冰奶~

You said you don't hv much breastmilk, why you still keep frozen milk ? Just keep them in the fridge as cold milk and feed BB when he needs it.

Unless you hv surplus silk, you should not make frozen milk because the nutritional value of the milk will depreciate when you freeze it, you are wasting the milk if you already do not hv enough supply.

The priority should be 1) direct feeding 2)cold milk 3)Froze milk (if you still hv surplus).

I think the first thing you do now is to increase your milk supply (e.g. by more frequent sucking / pumping and long pumping time etc.)

Here's my experience, hope it is useful to you - I normally hv 3-4 bottles of cold milk in the fridge for feeding (by the maid cos I hv to work) daily. I hv some 10 bags of frozen milk in the freezer, I seldom used them because there is no need to use them and my BB does not like the taste of the frozen milk. The frozen milk were always thrown away after they expired in 3 months.

Hi Jojolaw,

Thanks for your comment. I keep frozen milk for later time (around 1 month later) when I need to go back to work, and afraid not enough reserve when I'm not at home, so start to reserve from now. This may be wrong because I know the nutrition content of 1st month is different from that of 2nd month. But just keep it in case really not have enough later on. Anyway, I think pumping now also can help to increase my breastmilk, pls correct me if I'm wrong. Also, how longer pumping time can increase breastmilk? I already pump until it seems no more milk come out, is it correct?

You can continue to pump for 10-15 mins. even it seems there is no more milk, you may hv a second "let down" which may give you 2-3 more oz. This is the way to increase the breast. Try pump 15 min for one side then change 15 min to another, then change back to the first side for another 10-15 min so on. You may try pumping abt. 1 hr for the first few months each time. When supply is increase, you may hv enough milk even if you only pump 30 min each time.
