LCD or Plasma

I know this has been a very "old" question, but don't know which one to choose.
Also, which brand is the best for LCD, which is the best for Plasma?

i am now using plasma 'philips' brand and my friend is using 'hitachi' plasma. both are good.

if for LCD, there are many choices. however, i like traditional brand such as toshiba, philips, panasonics, hitachi etc.
if you just want to have a LCD for traditional TV replacement, some taiwan and 2nd line brand are ok such as olevia.
