combi is another good choice for new born (from 2months to 30kgs) with better protection but only around $3,000. My daughter sat on it seen very young (about 3 months old ) and now she is still sitting on it (now she is 28 months old and weights 35 pounds). It still OK for her. But Chicco is a little bit slim for child.
We bought a bb trolley from Chicco, and we liked it very much. The trolley also have a carseat for the newborn. When the bb was very very small, there are still some empty space in the car seat, Chicco also have special pad to add on to avoid the bb's small head moving too much inside the car. When bb is older (few months), you can remove the added pad. The car seat can be attached to the bb trolley. Now, my bb was 13 months, and he doesn't need that small car seat anymore, and don't need to put this car seat on the bb trolley.
When my bb was one year old, we bought another bigger size car seat. We are quite satisifed with chicco quality.
We bought the car seat from Times square, and my husband saw that the car seat was quite big and wonder whether he could put it inside the back truck. Then we asked the saleslady, and she let us bring the car seat to the parking and tried whether it's fit. Very good service.
