Nice to meet u here! Your case is very similar to mine last time this time. And THIS year this time, I am already 23 weeks pregnant! My hubby and I are so excited to have our first baby coming!

Come join the big crowd in the forum next door, there are lots of mom from diff area of US. We LA moms just have our first gathering last weekend, so pity that whalebb could not join us..... :-(

我是applied AIM只是比全年income 2%仲保到bb 24 months old
AIM 有income limited depent妳家庭有幾多人
還有如果妳低income就可 apply no cost medical
有屋有saving也可apply保到bb 18 years old even your income is too much 佢會比 Kaiser hospital 保險妳
但如果妳在美國咩都無就在可apply 白card la
有d醫生可幫妳apply insurance ka
妳住邊度?
仲有asian 服務中心也可幫妳apply ka

白card是給好底income家庭咩也不用比

Lucky whalebb is here! I know only very little about health insurance here.....

And because my hubby's plan cover me and my pregnancy (and our baby in the future), so I am too lazy to study the detail.....

I said my case is similar to yours because both my hubby and I came to US in 2003, so not very familiar to the system here. Later I found the BK forum with US moms and learnt so much from them! At that time I was not pregnant yet, so welcome to join even though u don't have a baby yet (well, u will soon get one after chatting....

they describe it with so much fun....

)

I live in Westwood, near UCLA. But we like to go to the dim sum place in Acradia during weekend! Where and when will u move?

So, how many LA mom in the gathering? I am very excited about that ^__^ and what are the average ages of those LA mom? Actually, my hubby got transfer 3 months ago from his home company. Therefore, we are not citizen or resident of USA. I stay home most of time as we haven't buy car yet. At the moment we are using my hubby's company car, which is not convenience at all. By the way, Shiba_Inu , what is your status in US?

I am the same as u: not citizen nor resident ah! Well, when it comes to pay tax, I think they catagorize me and my hubby as "resident alien"

My hubby and I are holding the J visa to stay here. He's doing research in UCLA and I come as his spouse. After coming here, as a J2 holder, I can apply for a "work permit" and so I am working now. J is good for 3 years and after that, we have to change to H visa (working visa) and that cause $$$$ again....

What visa are u holding?

We are not sure when we will have the LA mom gathering yet, still wait for one mom from NY to call us out!

I heard it may takes up to 3-4 months for the process, so did you apply the permit through lawyer? Sorry, I have so many questions to ask ne :mrgreen: The next thing on my list is to get the driver licence ASAP.

The gathering sounds very 熱鬧, even NY mom will travel that far for the gathering. Since I am not working at the moment, I am free most of the time, but I am not sure about my hubby. Can you guys send me some gathering photos to look look? I heard that all your hubby attedned the first gathering, that's so sweet
