I have bought a NDS Nite game player in Christmas time for my kid as gift. I bought the US version instead of Japan Version.
When my husband tried to use the adaptor to put into the socket for re-charge, A "Boom" occurred and immediate afterward, no more electricity supply. It scared us as much.
We found that the main switch of the electricity meter was turned off automatically, the socket at the wall was burned and the adaptor was damaged seriously. We have to ask the electrician to come to my home to check the electricity meter, change the socket and checking. It used me $600 !!!!!
The Electrician told us that nowaday the adaptors are manufactured in bad quality. Just advise us not to buy those adaptors without brands. Even the brand adaptors cannot quarantee the quality, like, the IBM lap top computers.
My husband tried to purchase a branded adaptor/ approved manufacturer of Nintendo, but couldn't find as the game player we purchased is 水貨 from USA, not 行貨 from Japan. When he went to the shop that we purchased the game player w/ adaptor, the sales were surprised to know that. He said he had never come across before. My husband required him to test the adaptor before exchanging a new one for us. He found that the sales was also felt frighten in putting the adaptor at the socket. Finally, he did. He had to run the business and did not have choice to refuse ma.
Can anyone advise me where to buy a branded adaptor for NDS Nite? Or, does anyone know whether Nintendo has manufactured an adaptors for NDS Nite used in HK?
