I had my baby delivered on Feb.17, 2004, and today is my first day return to work at a new company. I had resigned with the old company and I hope I can have a good start with this new one. But I really miss my baby and I really worry if my maid can take good care of her (only my maid & my baby at home). I'm not sure if I should set up a view-cam at home?? The maid has been working at my house for 3 months and so far so good.
did u enjoy the maternity leave in your last company? or you quitted when you were pregnant? you delivered on Feb 17 and start a now job today, is it enough for rest and taking care of your baby?
I am also planning to quit my job some time after delivery, but not sure if the market is good then. You are lucky that you got a so-far-so-good maid, dont worry lah, just ask her to take notes on what she did during daytime if you really dont want to install webcam.
Actually I did enjoy the maternity leave at my previous company and I only quitted after 1 month I returned to work there. Now it's only my 3rd day here with this new one and this is a quite big size company so I really need sometimes to adjust. Yes, I asked my maid to keep record of baby's schedule so I know when she's feeded and change diapers etc. So, how old is your baby now? Are u still a working mum? Let's share our feelings.
I am also like bbmamaj. I asked my maid to use a notebook to record my bb's meal time and other schedule such as time for changing diaper and whether the poo is okay. This helped me check bb's health and have a better understanding of my bb's habit after I resumed work.
I missed the days during my maternity leave when i fully took care of my baby. at that time, my baby was healthy and fat. now, my baby becomes thin and does not sleep well. i wonder whether it is because of my maid who takes care of my bb in a different way.
bbmamaj, i am expecting in Sep this year. Just plan to quit the job after maternity leave, as I dont like this job for years, after delivery, it's about time to make a serious and firm decision.
My maid will come end Jul/early Aug, all are new to me - baby and having a maid! Hope all are well!
Just want to know: are all of you quitting your job during your maternity leave? i.e. quit with a 1-month notice at the maternity leave, and no need to get back to work at the old company?
I'm thinking quitting the job for taking care of the baby... and I want to know if I need to get back to work again and stay one month at the company to comply the "1-month notice" note.
MaggieMaMa, I am still expecting, by baby will be born this Sep, I will not quit the job during the maternity leave lah of course, I can get pay ma!
In principle, resignation notice cannot be served within leave (whatever leave including annual leave, sick leave, maternity leave, etc.) unless there is compromise between you and your boss.
