how to choose a financial adviser

We want to set up a financial plan for our daughter's eduction fee. She is 5 now and we're going to move to UK or US in ten years time. My daughter and I'll stay there for 5 to 7 years.

Serveral advisers're approaching us. any suggestions for choosing a financial adviser.

u should focus on choosing the right plan that fit u with the right objective at the right time rather than focus on choosing the right person to handle this for u.

現時的IFA己經可以提供到各大保險公司及各大基金公司的產品,你可以唔需要自己到每間保險公司到睇plan,所以我會見意找IFA,另外就要找一間有在SFC(證監會)註冊的IFA,因為這樣是對投資者有一定的保障,因為她們的行為是要被證監會監管,之後就要找一位有經驗的理財顧問,當然這位顧問也要是證監會註冊的投資代表.以上是基本需要.
而產品方面,我相信子女教育經費,都是用"儲蓄基金"比較適合,因為你的投資時間有5-7年,你可以選擇一個比較平衡的組合,這樣得出來的效果應該會比一般保單為好.
仲有,到其時你會在UK or US,所以最好個plan可以到時選擇提款不同的貨幣.

其實好的Financial Adviser難尋, 我個人認為, 年資是其中一個選擇因素。好的Financial Adviser除了有理論外, 自己對投資市場也有一套自己的看法, 能夠將自己寶貴的投資經驗分享...

市場上有不小的'Financial Adviser'只是可能入行不足一年, 也不知他們的投資成績, 有理論但work不work就要買了先知.....

我認為, 好的Financial Adviser難尋, 不過, 若他是一個好的及有經驗的話, 一般不會太'Serveral advisers're approaching us.". 因為, 有料的, 客是approach佢地, 而不是他們approach 你.
