LCCI Higher is similar to F.7 Accounting syllabus. I attended LCCI 3rd level in the same year with my F.7 accounting study.
HKAAT is similar to a diploma. If you want to take this qualification. Totally, there are 8-9 subjects e.g. auditing, taxation, law & etc. For LCCI, the focus is only on how to record the accounting transactions in the book of account. However, you can further your study to become a qualified accountant. The route in HK is:
HKAAT -> PBE -> HKICPA QP + experience -> qualified accountant. If you want to be a public accountant, you should have take the practising certification which is a long way to go.
For ACCA, this is the overseas qualifcation. If you want to be HK qualified accountant, you should be the member of HKICPA in order to localise your qualification. However, the arrangement between these 2 accounting professions are under negotiation.
