I used to live in Nam Shan New Village in Po Lo Che, it is about 5 mins minibus to Sai Kung Town. I paid HK$7500 including parking place + 2/F (2 bedrooms, one of them has toilet inside the room + Roof + Beautiful Seaview. Very good quality village house.
The houses in Sai Sha Road cost less but U have to suffer from the long journey of the bus 299 to Shatin. And the roads within the villages in Sai Sha are very dark. If U do not drive, it is better to select the villages near to Sai Kung town where U can take minibus 1A to Choi Hung. Villages near to Sai Kung Town are:
Nam Shan Village in Po Lo Che (Very new houses, most of them have beautiful seaview, and minibus from Sai Kung town arrives inside the village, many foreigners live there)
Tui Min Hoi (5 mins minibus from Sai Kung Town, seaview or 10 mins walk)
Tung Cheung (near to Honey Moon dessert, Sai Kung Town)
Sa Kwok Mei (many dogs & the roads are very dark, but cheap rent (from$6000 up), the village planning is bad, U find find one house here, one house there.......)
If U take minibus to work in the morning, U can hardly get on because the minibus is always full when passing 濠涌新村
My friends used to live there, the rent is cheap, there is minibus to Sai Kung town from Ho Chung. For shopping, U can go to the Marina Cove.
Anyway, Ho chung is not a convenient place. At night, Coming back from Choi Hung with minibus, U have to get off at the Marina Cove and walk..... If U want to take the minibus to Ho Chung, U have to take the minibus to Sai Kung town first and then take another minibus returning to Ho Chung. It just wastes time.
