我的賓姐是海外請過來的, 2012年7月就會完成香港第一份工第一張約, 早前她向我透路她有意申請去加拿大打工..做滿二年就同家人做加拿大公民...她有以下條件, 請問她是否已經可以申請過加拿大...因為跟她同期一齊來香港的同鄉朋友已經成功申請左過加拿大
~她在香港工作已1.5年 (照顧Newborn)
~她在菲國有讀過助產士證書
~懂英文
~識煮中國家常菜

如果佢而家可以申請, 佢又好好彩好快有人請...過程又好順利...咁最快係會幾多個月要走 ?

我先生說, 既然佢想去加拿大, 就唔打算同佢續約, 費事到時臨急臨忙煩搵人同比多次機票錢...即係而家睇定都啱..是嗎? 重有批新工人Visa 方面, 會不會慢d

我個Bun Bun 係我到做左年半,而家都開始申請揾加拿大做,因我check 佢bag,見到佢自己寫左封ref letter 比自己相和帶埋我仔D相. 算吧,我都開始揾定工人啦 =="

My bun told me she needs to pay CAD 5,500 to agency while CAD4,000 is agency fee and CAD 1,500 is ticket fee.

She asked for reference letter this morning and she told me she applied to Canada. Since she is a honest and good helper during her period of employment, I sign for her without any hesitation and wish her all the best in future.

Can we really write to the Canadian Embassy to blacklist the maid?

My maid kind of kills my dog. My dog is very old and very sick. We were away from HK in early Feb. When I returned, I noticed that she didn't give medication and food to my dog regularly, though I specifically told her to.

After one week we returned, my dog kept vomiting seriously and refused to eat. He lost 1/3 of his body weight.

The vet said we need to put him to sleep.

She now has broken her contract with me and left my home already, coz I received calls chasing her for debts!!

Can we really blacklist such a cruel person?

I have just signed a contract with a Bun Bun who has very good reference from her previous employer.(I talked to her employer on phone as well.) Later I found out that her intention is to work in Canada. But her last application to work there was rejected.
Will she be able to try again ?
If so how would I know?
I don't want to go through all the hassle of looking for another helper again too soon.

I heard about that too. They are suggesting that but it's not pass the yet. That would be good at least those bad bunbun cannot use us to stay in Canada!!!

My bun told me the policy change and the employers in Canada should pay all application fee for hiring helpers. Is it true??

found out the following from the website of Philpine Overseas Employment Administration (an official website of the Phil Govvernment.

Requirement for Philos to work as nannies in Canada:

1・Successful completion of the equivalent of a Canadian high school education. Philippine High School Level has only the equivalent of 10 years high school in Canada. In order to have the equivalent of Canadian High School, completion of an additional 2 years of studies is necessary.

2・Within the last 3 years, you must have completed 6 months of full-time formal training in a field related to the job you want in Canada; or, you must have completed 12 months of full-time paid employment (please note this must include at least 6 months of continuous employment) in a field related to the work you want to do in Canada.

3・　Ability to speak read and understand either English or French.

以下是菲律賓政府網頁所提供。

菲律賓人往加拿大就職女傭之最低要求:

1・需完成中學,該水平須要相等於加拿大中學程度。以菲律賓中學畢業生,需額外多讀两年(我假設是大學)オ相等於加拿大中學畢業。(所以不需大學畢業!)

2・過去3年内,曾就讀及完成不少於6个月全日正統家傭訓練課程;　或,曾受僱為全職家傭不少於十ニ个月,當中最少要有連續6個月受僱於同一家庭。(即是,只要有做過ー份工連續6个月,其他碎碎濕濕加埋又有6个月,就得。)

3.憧英語或法文。

Thank you for your reply! You know as an domestic helper's Employer in HK is not easy....! The one who graduated from University always dreaming to go to Canada...., they borrow money in HK for their agency fee to Canada and leftover a lot of troubles to us after they left HK....!

I was suffered from this problem before, no matter how hard we try to prevent this to be happended again, if the Canada government is so kind for them, I think I better to apply as a maid for you in Canada....., then I can move my family there after 2-year...!

After my 1st nanny, I applied for another one from HK as well. She has a really good reference letter from her employer (but no phne number and I cannot prove if it's real). However after 2 weeks of her arrival she resigned!!!

Apparently she has relatives in here but she lied before she came and she just using me to sponsor her to come over! I was so mad and agency said they can find another one for me, but I didn't have another 6 months to wait.
So I hire locally with local agency instead of chinese agency. My existing bun worked in HK for almost 2 years and work in Toronto for 1 year before. But in Canada, we cannot apply the way that we use bunbun in here. They can refuse to do anything other than taking care of kids, unless you list them all on contract and she is ok with it. They also have a hotline to complaint about employer for anything. But we, as employer, have no where to complaint and nothing to protect us.

Being a nanny in here is like being a princess -- government's always protect them more than the employer. According to the law in here, as long as you came to Canada for domestic helper, as long as you work for 2 years or 2400 hours (forgot how many but it's equal to 2 years FT hours) in 3 years, they can apply for land immigrant. Hong kong people need to pay a lot of money and trying to find a way to get in here but those bun bun just came here being princess for 2 years and they are good!

They no not need to stay in HK/oversea for 2 years!

Let me tell you why all bunbun are dying for coming over:
-- they only work 37.5 hours per week. If we ask them to work overtime we have to pay. Any hr over 40hr has to pay 1.5 times of her salary
--minimum wage is $10.25 per hour in here (Toronto). So they earn like triple of what they earn in HK!
-- They can break the contract anytime, just 2 weeks notice then it's done!!!
-- Some of the employee would apply US travelling visa for them too. I am one of them. Sometimes we need to go to US and we need bunbun to take care of kids. It's very hard for them to apply on their own and it cost $125 USD.

Banana cup cake, do maids need reference letter or proof of working experience at all? I heard that they could lie about their experience to work in Canada...
