congrats on your new baby! i will have my 2nd soon too!
my bro and sis in law are both working, they hired 2 maids to take care of 2 kids, with the help of my mum. the 2 maids work very well together as my sis in law listed out all the tasks and explained to them precisely what they need to do.
my niece is now in K1, her bro is now 2.5 yo in playgroup.
actually i think having 1 maid is ok, but can't do the cooking. my niece takes school bus at 12pm, back home at 5.30pm then went to bed immediately till 7.30pm.
if you have a new born, you will have to let your maid carry your NB to send your K2 kid to schoolbus and pick him up too.
also, if just 1 worker, no time to do the cooking. taking NB is v time-consuming as the maid has to feed NB every 3-4 hrs.
if I were you, I will hire an extra maid for 2 years to prevent accidents happen.
