Nillie:
Thank you. I will call the doctor tomorrow.
My husband has been suggesting to change the formula ... I already told him that we can't change the formula by ourselves, somehow he just doesn't ...
jstn,
You can change the formula but you need to know the reason first. If Terence is allergic to milk-based, you can try soy-based. But, it's better to consult the doctor before doing so. Particularly, your husband should not buy the gas relief medication and give it to Terence without doctor's advice because Terence is so young. Countertop medication maybe too strong for him at this age.
I'll say that baby in the first few months is really difficult to take care. I'm having hard time with my daughter even though she's 6 weeks old now. Breastfeeding has been established well. I can pump out 3-4oz each time. Usually, I pump 2 times at midnight and occasionally some times at daytime if Amanda does not empty my breasts. I bottle feed her 1-2 times at midnight, usually with breast milk. However, she usually takes so long to finish one feeding and she cries so much plus having so much gas. Each midnight feeding can be 1.5 hours to 3 hours. (I have mentioned here for help some times here) Finally, I find out that she does not like to drink from the bottle
Saturday morning, I need to take a follow-up diabetes test; it states that I have to take a blood draw early in the morning without eating for at least 8 hours, then have 75ml glucose and take another blood draw after 2 hours. In this 2 hour, I cannot breastfeed. So, I left Amanda to my mom and prepared breast milk for her. After I came back, my mom told me that Amanda cried so much and refused to eat. She only drank so little in the first feeding. For the second one, she split out instead of drinking and she kept crying that she swallowed so much gas. Since the blood draw was screwed yesterday, I need to do it again this morning. The same thing happened to Amanda again. I don't know what to do now. At first, I worried about how to establish milk supply for breastfeeding. Now, I need to train her to use bottle. I feel that I am trapped with her. She does not want to take bottle then how can I go back to work later or what can I do when I have doctor appointment. I don't know if I'm too mean to force her to use bottle since she's only 6 weeks old.
