Markham is a good place in before. My schoolmate is also living in Markham at the moment. In before, I lived in Brampton near Steels Ave. and I studied in North York. So, if I back to Canada, I think I will live in Scarbourgh or Markham. In addition, how much for a single house in Scarbourgh?
Uran

north york still famous for its education board.
temp is around 10c...
I am new to the forum and becoming a new mom. I am currently 29 week pregnant and would like to learn things from the wonderful mommies living in Toronto. I live in Richmond Hill area and work in Scarborough. My due date is in January 10, 2006 (give birth in North York General Hospital) and I will probably take my leave starting Christmas.
I was a student long time ago then went back to HK to work. However, I think its fate that I got married to my husband who lived in Toronto. Therefore I came back to Canada in 2002. This is just a short briefing of me. Nice meeting you all!!!!!
Just to say HI and it is really nice to know someone living in Toronto.
Nice to meet you! I am Dapper, mom of a 5 months old baby boy and living in Scarborough! I moved to Toronto by 2003 from HK ... Just like what you said ... fate to get married to my husband who lives in Toronto (we were long distance lovers before .. hahaha!!!). I gave birth in North York General which is a very very nice hospital and my doctor is Dr. Paul Shuen (a very good doctor also). Is your baby a boy or a girl? Which part of Scarborough that you are now working at?
I have no relatives and no close friends here because my parents are still in HK. It is a little bit difficult for me to take care of the baby by myself at the very begining but everythings are back to normal track now and I can handle the baby by myself
I knew some girls from another forum having similar backgrounds like us.. .Hong Kong girl married to a Toronto guy and need to give up everything in HK and move to a new place to start a new life (I think all of us are really brave... hahahaha!!!)... we are going to have a gathering by early November, if you are interested in to join, let me know la! on the other hand, you can also join us in the chit chat talk (other Toronto Brides seldom come here to chat because they have no kids... hahhahaa)...
just came back from vacation - HK did changed a lots, I only left 2 years ago, already lots of change. I am sure my next visit to HK - will be another major change.
Hi Uran,
My backgroung is similiar to you. I came back to HK in 1997. My little girl will be 3 years old on November.I missed Toronto so much , but HK is still a good place to earn our living. I hope we can go back to Canada when my daughter finish her primary education.Have you bring your little boy back to Canada once? I want to take mine to visit Canada, but it takes too long to travel.
Hi GowGow, Dapper and all moms,
Dr. Paul Shuen also our kids' Doctor, he was so good, you can feel his professional and experience knowledge, he can make you feel so comforetable during in the prodceure, giving birth and etc...
I am living in Thornhill, close to Hwy7 / Leslie, and you girls may come to see my webpage, I have a dairy/journal on the web, you can see our day-to-day living in Markham, and you could also leave me a message there, I will try to help if I can, and there should be no problem and no delay to read, not like Baby-kingdom, always take a minute or more to load this message board...!!! So see you there MYPAGE...http://toniaho.blogspot.com http://toniaho.blogspot.com
long time no viewing BK, as problems in loading the page. it's nice to see so many new comers here. welcome all.
i live in scarborough too, have two girls, 7 & 11.
I still not very adopt to "new life" here ga but no method la..... hahaha.... I am crazy for shopping and was a crazy shopper when I was in HK.... but cannot go shopping now la since I have no car (although I have driving licence) and need to take care of the baby!!!
My husband doesn't like me to go around (esp to shopping mall) because he knows I cannot control myself in spending $$$.. hahaha...
My entertainment is watching TV, using internet (love to come to this website but it is sooooooooooooooooo slow that sometimes I need to give up.. esp. I am using dial up and not high speed...) and playing with my baby boy
The gals in she.com are very friendly, some went back to HK after getting married and some stay here, may be most of us are in the same boat (left our family and friends in HK and came to a new place to start a new life with husband), so we just like "old friends" with similar topics (e.g. worry about how to adopt to the new environment, worry about how long we can get our PR /Citizenship, OHIP, Working permit, etc., worry about our finance .... ), you are also welcome to join our gathering ga, if you are interested in, "M" me la ... of course other moms are welcome to join also!
I really want to go back to HK and I miss HK as well as the shopping so much... hahahaa....I am really home sicked!!!
I love the name - 3T... and love your web page also!!!
I joined as member of your toronto mom group already!!! I used to collect happy meal toys when I was in HK but focus in winnie the pooh toys only (i am a crazy fans of winnie the pooh!).. although i am not going to celebrate Halloween (because I am a Christian but thinking of dressing up my baby boy in Winnie the pooh costume tomorrow ... hahahaha!!!)
I used to live in Homantin also when I was in HK and Oi Man Estate is a place that I visited frequently because I have a buddy used to live there - "sun man lau" .... ... Her mom will take us to "yam cha" (drink tea) at "man tin tai chau lau" (name of the restaurant)... really missed the old days........
I remember I saw a "commercial" at Omni 2 regarding 心理治療輔導給病態睹徒 before.. if I come across the ad. again, will write down the details and let you know..
i am not a crazy shopper - but at least back in HK, I could go everywhere I like at my own time. I could simply told my "lo" I went to causeway, Mongkok or so and back home at so and so.
here - no way, could only go those place he like to go. Can tire is our usual place, home depot is the 2nd choice.
our shopping schedule is very rountine - Monday - shop at T&T (warden & steeles) and No frills (Warden & HWY 7). weekend - Markville mall, can tire, home depot.
Tuesday - library at fairview mall, Thursday - libarary at Angus Glen. Wed/Sun - badminton.
is that a boring life !!
Be honest, I never worry about how long we can get PR/Citizenship as that's by law, and we don't plan to move back to HK - we are old so basically will stick here till......
