I have been away from home these two days taking some body check at hospital. Very pleased to see there are so many new members. Welcome you all, it is very nice to have you joined us such that we could chat more, learn more and exchange information more amongst us.
I would need some time to feedback to those questions you have raised to me. But I want to feedback to elelgant first because she is having a baby in the coming September? Hurray, ultimately there's another forty+ 準mother!

Elegant, I think you are somewhat a 高貴woman because your name shows this attribute.
To share with you, I have only taken the 抽驗胎水at 18 weeks. Some doctors said 16 weeks can do it while I have to take it at 18 weeks because TMH takes this kind of test at 18 weeks (I shall deliver my baby in TMH). Luckily, the test shows that my baby doesn't have the symdrome of 唐氏綜合症。 However, I would like to share with you the below case of my friend:
我有一個朋友驗胎水發覺bb有唐氏綜合証, 如果要肯定個测試是否真確無誤, 就要抽臍帶血, 但bb流產機會很大。佢唔忍心, 最終把bb生下來。bb出世後先至攞啲臍帶血去驗, 結果係一切正常。而家個bb都四個月了, 很可愛, 她成家人都很開心。如果嗰陣佢決定唔要個bb, 個bb真係死得無辜。
So, the test seems not really 100% accurate. However, since the risk of taking the test is not that high, if your husband wants to be more assured, then it may worth to take the test if it helps resolve his worriness. But you may need to think about it before taking the test : what if the test is negative?

I know you are expecting a baby in May, since we are older mother, I just wonder did you do OSCAR test or amniocentesis in your early pregnancy to check for down symdrome? I did OSCAR test when I was 12 weeks and the result came back good 1:740 and my O& G said I don't need to go for amniocentesis, but my husband is worry since OSCAR is afterall a new technology and he had not hear of this before, I am now in week 16 and still don't know whether I should go for aminocentesis or not?? do you have any comment???
