I would suggest not to give any cold and flu meds to toddler below 2 years old.
those meds mostly to sedate your child and stop the running nose and coughing reflex, which is very dangerous if overdose. as toddler under 2, their internal organs and brain still UNDER DEVELOPMENT, expecially most meds need the liver to DIGEST .. that really not good for the liver function..
the way to help your lil one.
1. use cool mist humidifier
2. use normal saline drop (1-2drops into each nose), then do the suction.
3. inhale hot stream (you can run the hot water in the bathroom --at the sink), cover yourself and your lil one with a big towel over the sink.. watch out for the hot water.. inhale the hot stream for about 5-10 min. (remember to close the bathroom door.
4. if you have the nebulizer machine at home, just simply add the normal saline 3cc and let your lil one inhale. then do the chest physio.. by padding his back.. which can help to loosen the mucus.
5. if it comes with fever, and the mucus changed in color.. that may be a sign of infection like bronchitis.. not cold or flu anymore. you need to bring your son back to clinic. because he may need anti-biotics treatment.. as bacterial infection won't heal by itself.
6. Vit C gummy bear may help if he doesn't eat fruit and veggies much.
7. a lot of rest and increase fluid intake will help him recover sooner

佢算唔算好嚴重呀!??
bb係唔係3個月應該識轉身架??...alvin 好似一d想轉身o既徵兆都冇喎...就算我將佢趴o係度玩...佢都頂唔到10分鐘就開始cry...>.<"
半夜係唔係最好等佢喊先比奶奶呢?? 有時佢4-5個鐘醒我通常都比奶咀先(怕嘈醒其他人)...跟住我就去沖奶...點知佢又訓左...咁我見都沖左就抱起佢比埋佢飲囉.咁佢係唔係會介唔到夜奶??

如果bb唔飲如奶有好多原因，一係一肚風、一係唔舒服、其實你唔洗掛心，你個仔行飲奶好好.你有問題call去診所ask姑娘..重有可能bb介夜奶，你見佢唔係

哭得好大聲、就唔好比啦！一係換片！或這發夢...通上3個月才開始轉身，我細仔都係3個月才轉身。以上資料都係意見。

唔該晒咁多位，BB尋晚已經痾咗臭臭喇, 不過只係痾咗兩粒咋, 就已經痾得好辛苦同喊到七彩. 見到佢咁真係心痛.
We went to see her pedi today, and she said no rice, no congess and no banana for her diet. If so, what can I feed her?
Nillie, what food is high in fiber for baby? She eats veggies and fruits everyday already.

my kid also had constipation problem when he's younger.
yr pedi is definitely right.
for the high fiber foods, try the 3 p's - prune, pear, and peach; and oatmeal will help too. so we fed him oatmeal cereal more than rice cereal when he's a baby.

My eldest son had constipated when he was young, I fed him with diluted prune juice and it really helps. Gerber sells prune juice in travel size.

23 oz a day is not too bad. For a 2 to 3 month old baby, the average for their intake is between 25 and 36 oz. If Alvin's weight is not over 75 percentile, you may keep feeding him at night.

Pariis 成5個幾6個月先識轉身. 個個BB唔同.

妳試下臨訓前果餐俾多D佢食, 應該可以捱耐D.

問題:
B仔應該咩時候割包皮? 聽講好多出世幾日就割, 有D就幾歲先割. 我老公話係唔係睇定D先割? 究竟邊樣好D?

Amanda 都係由大食妹變細食Ｂ，最初兩個月可以一餐食成６－７安，點知突然間只肯食３－４安，醫生話佢有重，仲係維持５０－６０％，應該冇問題，而家佢吽牙，近排每餐都係４安，不過佢上個月都重咗多個一磅，醫生話佢體重增長好正常。到３個check-up 時，你可以問下醫生就知，唔駛咁擔心。

ＢＢ唔一定２個月識轉身，Amanda 而家７個月都未識，仲唔肯扒轉身，唔到一分鐘就喊，不過佢就坐得幾穩陣。你得閒就扒轉Alvin一陣，教佢轉身，等佢練習下啦。

花旗太太生活在花旗國，留意時差，你問我未必即時答到。

飲多Ｄ暖水都會有幫助大便暢順，我個仔好鍾意食西苺，如果佢大便，我通常會俾一至兩個佢食，好快就有得去。

Congratulations! 我都一仔一女收工啦。我個仔冇割，老公話等佢大個自己决定。通常如果割，醫院會幫ＢＢ割咗先出院。我朋友係護士，佢話Ｄ醫生通常會提議，如果爸爸有割，就同囝囝割，因為唔會令ＢＢ覺得自已同爸爸唔同。不過唔割包皮，到囝囝咁上下大，就要時常同佢反出嚟清潔下，防止發炎。

rose-mag is right. when i went to the prenatal class and watched a video about circumcision, it also said the same thing - usually try to be the same as the baby's dad and usually it's more like a cosmetic thing than it's medical necessary.

oh ... btw, i think it's more common for the baby boys to have the circumcision in NY. i think maybe becoz there're more jewish there.

i suggest u talk to yr ob doctor and peditrician abt it.

congratulations for having a boy soon. anyway all my 3 boys have been circumcized..my last ob did a terrible job on alvin..long story short. he needs another surgery to fix it when he grows up :(((

working on 8th ave is great. short drive and i bet the hours r better than working in a hospital! not bad at all =)

but it is a 9-5 (Mon-Fri) job, and 1 weekend each month... Ying EE said that is better for me, as I have so much trouble with Hayfever, I shouldn't work at night.

Dear all.. Ying EE returned last night.. I am really ready to return to work next week

hum.. Gabriel is circumcized.
because I know how dirty it would be (as I was a child care worker before I became a nurse.. many boys suffered from infection as parents don't know that they need to help the boys to clean it).
Glad that Gabriel is circumcized.. and we found out that, 佢嘅尿道口係徧側, OB (Mary Wong) did leave some foreskin for Gabriel, as we believe that specialist may need to do a surgery for Gabriel to correct the structure.
If you want him to be circumcized.. either do it before he discharged back home. or wait until he has recurrent infection.. like urinary infection etc. then your peds may suggest you to do so.
