我住過Sentosa Resort & Spa, 好有Resort feel, 好舒服.
Shangri-la's 我無住過, 但網上有人話一般. 但我見佢係一座building 咁feel 無Sentosa Resort & Spa 咁 relax.

I just come back from Singapore, I stay at Shangri-la and Siloso Beach. Sure Shangri La is better but the price is $1450 and Siloso is $920. Siloso is clean but the room is small, also very near the beach and one swimming pool (not too big). the swimming pool of Shangri la is very nice and big and also have the indoor children playground. BUT always very full booking. As I know Sentosa Resort and Spa is around $1800

Just been on the Singapore Flyer last night, I would highly recommend to anyone. I love it. Luckily there was a clear sky last night, I was so worried as it was raining heavily on Thursday. I will definitely go for a "day" ride next time. I believed it will be another experience.

I bought the tickets via internet and go straight up to the boarding zone. The night "view" of Singapore is really enchanting.

The "capsule" is air-conditioned, spacious and I moved around the "capsule" to take photos.

As far as I understand it was opened on Valentine's Day this year. Before it was very crowded but now ....I guess should be better. Still on the safe side I bought the tickets via the internet.

(2) 另外如果我係搭UA, 晚去早返, 除左TAXI有無其他車可以由機場去酒店?

我打算暑假去, 想跟團, 例如: http://www.hongthai.com/htpublic/TourItin/SSF03-PRO.pdf 不過, 我想去5天, 慢慢玩聖淘沙島+日間動物園. 我會帶埋亞囡(4歲&1歲), 仲有我亞爸+媽, 所以想跟團, 唔洗周圍搵地方食/搭車. 我又未去過singapore. 請問有冇旅行團可介紹?

我們一家三口五月去星，住入Sentosa，但帶住2歲BB落機後要買好多用品，請問Sentosa內有冇超市？或機場附近有冇？否則要入Sentosa 放低行理又要出town？Town 有邊間Supermarket 大D？

A rather big supermarket chain there is "Cold Storage" :

我而家訂緊6月28日去新加坡嘅酒店，不過agent話果段時間有展覽，d酒店貴晒，佢報俾我個價做唔倒．．．唔知係咪真呢？

I do find the hotels are getting more and more expensive. Last time (ie around 10 April 2008), we stayed in St Regis(for my husband business trip at a special corporate & promotion rate) was offering close to HKD 2500 per night. And my husband stayed at Swisshotel again last week was costing him similar price.

So I guess that is the price has increase overall.

I want to know, Holiday Inn Park View / Hilton & Meritus Mandarin, which one is near the MRT station? WHich one is more suitable for elderly(68) and child(4).

最後都係搵唔到團, 改自由行.

Dear all,

I have not decided which location of hotel to be stayed. I will go with 2 children(4 & 1 year old). Any hotel is convenient to eat and shop? Orchard Road/City Centre/Chinatown? Which's hotel is recommended? Thank you.

My plan:

Day 1 or 4 Botanic garden + Orchard road
Day 2 Sentosa
Day 3 zoo
Day 4 or 1 City Center + China Town

Kids will feel tired after the flight. Why don't you walk around + Singapore Flyer + eat around that day.

2. Zoo cannot last 1 whole day. Or do you mean Zoo + Night Safari ?

3. City Centre - can try the Duck Tour, and/or Hippo Tour.

For Duck Tour, is there any chance to take photo in City Center? And, how to book the ticket?

Any suggestion of Hotel in City Center? (Twin room and Triple room are available.)

You will find that it leaves Suntec City, then circles somewhere nearby, then goes into the water. Lots of time for you to take photos while on the Duck. But it is also quite expensive, cos it lasts only ~60min or so.
Anyway, being a tourist, it is one of the touristy things to do, so $$$$$$.... And my son loved the idea of riding on an amphibian which might have been used in a war !

I am not sure what you mean by City Centre.
Do you mean the Merlion (the lion head - fish tail statue) ?
Or Orchard Road area ?

If you look at a Sing map, from Suntec City you can walk around for at least 2 hrs, and see the "Fountain of Wealth", quite spectacular fung shui device. And can walk along a walkway with shops along both sides, to Raffles City, which is another big shopping mall. Marina Square is another one in the same area. So if you like shopping you can browse around.
The Esplanade (shaped like a Durian 木留褳) is just outside Marina Square, and the Merlion is directly opposite. (But I really have no idea how you can walk from Esplanade to the Merlion. Or you can take MRT - only 1 stop away.)

The "City" MRT station is directly underneath Raffles City.
So you can actually 行到怕 if you decide to walk around taht area.

The food court in Raffles City is quite good - bright and clean and lots of choice. Good place for lunch.
When you wait for Duck Tour, there is a fast food shop very near your waiting point and you can have breakfast there.

You can book the Duck Tour when you are in Sing.
My experience was, I called them for booking, left my name and quoted my credit card no. Quite full so if you want a certain time slot only you should call as soon as you reach your hotel. Can choose to pay in cash or by credit card when you show up.

Thanks for your useful information. My "City Center" means Marina City. Finally, I change my plan:

Day 1 Airport --> Rasa Hotel at Sentosa (underwater world + doplin + song of the sea)
Day 2 swimming pool/beach --> Imbiah --> Vivo City
Day 3 sentosa --> Hilton Hotel --> Singapore Flyer --> China Town
Day 4 Singapore Zoo --> Orchard Road
Day 5 Duck Tour (if my family would like to do) --> Marina City --> Airport
