唔該哂carrie210同Nillie,
想問下未入籍US citizen既媽咪, 有無同囝囝/囡囡申請香港居留權證明書 (Right of Abode in HKSAR - Certificate of Entitlement). 我個舊同學, 兩公婆都係H1working visa, 但小朋友就係美國出世, 用美國passport, 佢地叫我幫歷仔申請. 有我心大心細, 唔知麻唔麻煩呢? 又唔知對歷仔將來又有幾大作幫助呢?
唔該大家俾下意見.

呢個問題nillie會有長細d既info...

但我所知..你朋友兩公婆...working visa..即係未有greed card?
咁直情佢個仔都可申請hk id card啦...唔洗特別申請right of abode in HKSAR.
我試過番去時問叻叻有冇機會可申請hk id card.個海關當時就話.如我係有左green card先生叻叻..咁就冇咩機會有啦..如係之前生呢..就可能會有啦..then我都冇去申請..都係要博下..唔得..就好似要申請居留權..但冇咩用..又話要係hk 住7年先有hk id card..咁我女都唔會番去長住既..

carrie講得好啱..
Baby 媽咪喺BB時只有HK身份, 冇green card. BB係有可能申請HK ID. 但唔一定得.. Rachel 成功, 我失敗 (我生Amanda 時冇green card).
但不防一試.. if 返HK長住, 一定要apply. immunisation, 入急症室, 到小朋友讀書, 駛唔駛錢就depend on 係咪local 喇

咁我地就無諗住會返去長住. 但個朋友話申請左, 第時方便個仔出入香港同大陸咁話喎. 其實, 楂US passort出入香港同大陸會唔方便既咩? 我同學個勢係會等拎綠咭, 再等入籍果啲. 佢係mainland買左屋, 攞埋個PhD. 又有正職, 所以打佢都唔會走. 不過佢話留多條路俾個仔喎.
聽你地咁講, 等我再考慮下先.

佢地唔番去長住..咁申請居留權都冇咩用.因要住夠7年先可有hk id card麻..咁冇id card, 即係唔可以有回鄉card.咁咪又係要用us passport申請china visa入大陸咯..咁同唔申請有咩分別. 我就叫會你朋友..而家佢地未有green card..試幫個仔拎id card先..如得左.就申請埋回鄉card..咁就保正佢方便入大陸啦.
而家china visa..改晒啦..大人細路都要usd130呀..不過細路只得兩次入境咋.

Dear all moms,

Thank you all! I was discharged from the hospital this Tue and still in the process of recovery. BB is doing fine. We named him Dorian. Sai Sai is so excited of his little brother. Always kissing him, want to hold him, feed him. We need to assign him a task to take care of his little bro.
I am trying to breastfeed Dorian but the milk flow isn’t that much at this point. I will do both the formula and breast feeding and hope can do more breast feeding later on.

係bb身份正呀..通常hk mami申請 sar passport時都申請埋張身份正, 但就冇相既..用時都要連同passport一齊用....我就唔知唔係hk出世既bb可唔可以申請. 我諗拎到張正..等同於佢比你係hk長住咯.

if your friends hold work visa and their baby is born in USA, they still have to apply for verifying baby's right of abode in HK first ... this is the first procedure for applying HKSAR passport ... the reason why the baby needs to apply HKID card is that all HKSAR passport applicants have to possess HKID card, that's why the baby also needs to apply HKID card ...

and the reason why your friends need to apply the vertification of their baby's right of abode is that when baby enters HK, his/her status is visitor, not citizen ... so he/she can't apply HKID card/HKSAR passport right away ...

if the verification procedure is unsuccessful, your friends can still apply something like a dependent visa for their baby ... once baby has lived in HK for more that 7 years, they can apply the verification of right of abode for their baby again ... at this time, people who hold the dependent visa enjoys the same benefits as HK citizens, but polices do change and no guarantee for the future

Thanks carrie & jstn. These things are some complicated. So, I think, in this stage, I will try to apply the right of abode for alex first, then will try the baby ID.
