Hi Nillie or any experienced mom,

I have a question would like to ask ah. My son is now almost 4.5 month old. I'm working full time and need to study for my license exam, so I'm now planing to stop breast feeding him. What is the best way to reduce/stop milk flow ah? I tried to stop pumping, but it is so painful. Thanks.

你可以由而家起每日餵少一次人奶，改餵奶粉，你D奶會慢慢少，同時拉長兩次泵嘅時間，應該大約7－10日可以回晒奶。你想快少少，可以用谷牙同果皮煲水，谷牙大約一至兩手執，果皮就一大個，用五碗水煲埋兩三碗，一日飲一兩次，我煲咗兩次就回咗奶，如果谷奶谷得好痛就泵下，我用咗大約5日就冇奶。

花旗太太生活在花旗國，留意時差，你問我未必即時答到。

As Rose-mag said.. that was the way I stopped my breast feeding (amanda wean bf by herself)..
extend the time of pumping will help.. discontinue of Skin to skin from now on.
For those food which chinese old folk said.. you can try, but don't 100% rely on it.. because it may not work on everyone.. some of the old folk doesn't work on me, I do eat them some times.. it doesn't even effect my milk flow at all.
If engorement bother you a lot, you can go to your OB to get the prescription of 回奶丸.
I did not take that.. as I am afriad of any side effect. what I did, was extended my pumping time, omit all skin to skin. Return to normal diet, wear my regular bra, apply cold compression on my breast when I have engorement.
That was what I did last time.

hihi Nillie...thanks...hope that I can meet you when I visit my mother in law in NJ....I probably will go there in May or June because she had never met my son before.....
By the way, do you know whether I can bring my Indonesia maid to USA with me? If yes, do you know what should I do in order to get her a visa? Thanks.

I have a some frozen breast milk in the freezer but there'll be no electricity on the coming Tue, 唉, d心血可能就咁無晒.

Actually I didn't give any local formula to Andrea, I give the Japanese one, it's not as sweet as the local ones. The lactose free formula prescribed by the pedi before to Andrea is from Mead Johnson (I guess it should taste like Enfamil) and it's much sweeter than the Japanese one as Andrea already got 痰 after drinking for 2 times, so I stick with the Japanese one.

wow, so Gabriel can share 肉餅 with his little sister then? your blender is more 抵 in this way

finally we send Andrea to 育嬰院 2 days on the last thursday and friday, I was so worried before so. but it turned out she didnt' cry much. it was really stressful before as no one in the family supported this idea, if touch wood anything went wrong, it would be all my responsibility. now I'll start resuming to work 2 days a week and Andrea will be in the 育嬰院 for these 2 days. I guess it's better than handled by my mom alone as it would be very tough for her although she'd try hard to do so. but Andrea just got sick... hope she can still stick with my plan

Stick with it.. send Andrea to Nursery.. they are not bad at all.. When I was a child care worker.. at 1993-94.. the nursery service was really cool and excellent in the WORLD, we are the leader towards many developed countries.. Japan, Norway, and many countries, they sent all the child care experts to Hong Kong, just to observe how cool we maintain the excellent nursery care for infants within 0-2 years old.
Believe in yourself. you made the right decision. Even Andrea may get sick some times, but remember, Kids will get sick anyway. Unless you guys can lock her up forever and not let her to explore the world..
Can you send the BF to nursery, so the teacher can defroze the milk for Andrea??

if you can't believe that it is good for Andrea to stay in the nursery in hk.. You better not come to US.. for those American white operated nursery. Amanda attended on 3 days, I was crying to go.. they locked my girl in the crib or high chair from the moment arrive school till nap time, then lock my girl back to the high chair until after school.
Only 4 days, Amanda lost the ability to walk striaght, can you believe that! that is child abuse but they don't think so.
The service in hk, with care, with balance diet. qualify care giver to take care all infants.
The one in 3rd street, I know, as I live in Park Road豫苑.. I know all nurseries and child care center all around the suburb.
When Andrea turns 2, and if you don't plan to send her to international day care... or 貴族day care..
Consider the one at 高街to 東邊街 or the one at 高街社區中心頂樓.. they are in high quality.

oh, you serious, there's such a day care! how did you find out Amanda had been locked in the high chair? poor little her!

you live just nearby! actually this one is not close to my home, but the one closest to my home refuses to admit Andrea on 2 days a week's regular basis, and I know another 0704 mom sends both her kids to this one, so we send Andrea to this one. is it good? when Andrea turns 2, I plan to send her to Victoria, a pre-nusery here, not sure if you have heard about it before. most of my friend's children spent a year in this school can then get a place in other reputatable kindergartens.

you know, after the electricity issue, finally 3 meals of Andrea went to her bath tub :-(

I have a question, Andrea's little cousin has diarrhea for like a week's time, 5-6 times a day. the peids they visited told them there's nothing they can do, one of the pedi asked them to give him "O-Lac", and said it's soy milk??!! we are very confused as "

rosobee" should be the one if he's referring to soy milk. and I know soy milk is helpful for diarrhea. so should we still give him O-Lac or Prosobee instead? let me give you a bit of his medical background. he's now almost 5 months, he vommitted milk seriously and got many 頭泥 in the first 2-3 months. a doctor said he's allergic to milk and asked him to drink 低敏奶粉. since the diarrhea has been a while and doesn't seem to be infection, his dad said it's not as waterly as before, but still poo 5 times a day, is it related to the formula? I have asked my in-law to pump every 3 hours before she returned to work but she thinks if she doesn't have enough milk then 泵都無用, so ends up the supply is low

for the issue of Andrea's cousin, ask her parents to leave the message and them me what is going on.. so we will not end up guess things.. as you know.. I am a health care profession, I don't want to collect subjective data from others. Information better to be given by infant's parents if they wanna my advice.
