Dear 小肥佬,
as long as mini matt is awake, behave normal, eye contact as usual.. response to sound and light, no vomitting or poor appetite, that will be fine.
As baby will start to turn over at about 2-4 months, falling from bed may occur... only what we can do, put the chair with the back next to the bed, or let baby sleep on the floor with mattress, or let baby sleep in their crib.
my paediatric asked us to buy the NASA mattress on Amanda's 3 months old, so day nap time, she will sleep on it on the floor.... it is a king size.. so no matter she turns and turns.. still inside the mattress..
My paediatric let his son sleep on the mattress on the floor until now.. I think that he is almost 10 years old now..
At bed time, amanda will sleep in her own crib.. because of protection lor...
Natmama..
ooo dog and pig year...
right right right..
hee hee.. my husband laughs at it last night when I mention it again... seems I am a very silly pig.. :(
ClaraB,
Told ya.. my husband will smile if he knows that I met one more Hong Kong mami here... ha ha.. he said.. that is very few hong kong people live in MD la.. and he keeps laughing at me that I am a map--mental retarded...
naughty naughty baba he is!
I just got your message. Thanks! We all ok, but my net door still not open outside. My husband said " you lucky yesterday you could open the net door ." ( I took photo in the lock yesterday morning , and the door close..... ) because my husband tried to open last night and still lock outside. My ah Q thought, it is safe at home, because outside lock, but inside can open by myself. Yesterday, I really nervous, but today I relax!
MrsYip,
Glad to know that you are relax today, Amanda is fine, she was upstair with her nanny.. she is having fun.. although, if she can choose, she will still kick her nanny away... baby's nature.
All her chinese costumes posted from hk, from my parents and my elder brother's family, my sister in law bought a lot of cutie things for Amanda, I get closer with her than my bro... certainly my lovely younger sister, she loves amanda and we love her too.
If 18 months with under 20lbs.. a bit light.. but anyway, as we always mentions.. as long as they are healthy, chinese's body mass always a bit lighter than western standard.. so don't worry too much.. if you really worry about it.. introduce high calories food, such as yogurt, pizza.. noodles.. they will gain weight soon.
Don't worry about under weight as your lovely baby is not at all.
In US.. we have to worry about obese .. that is much scary!
We have same account together, so my husband suppose I take the "house $" by myself. I used to use credit card , so I don't need more cash in my wallet. In the beginning I become a housewife ( no work ), I was not used to use his money. The feeling like werid. Sometimes, I think this money is not I earn. I use this money carefully. Don't want waste my husband money. And also, I have no private money. How about you?
Natmama,
I don't get a certain amount of "house$" from my husband every month... as sometime, he brings more back, then I will save them up, until he used his own and ask me for more.. if he brings less back home, then I will ask him to withdrawl money from bank..
I am too stupid, I have not tried to withdrawl money here.. almost 2 years in US life, my husby wanna teach me how to use ATM here.. but I feel like.. I am not ready..
I guess .. no one stupid and withdrawl from normal life like me..
My bb doctor has a chart for my bb weight. It shows bb weight -3% in standard. Others test is ok. So, doctor said no need worried, just check up next time.
I give her diet: fresh milk 16oz a day(morning and night time), noodle, oatmeal, cheese, egg, rice, chicken, vegetable, soup, fruit, and water. Lately, she likes to eat cookie ( I bake every day, 4 pcs and share with bb )
Mrs Yip,
as all the medical advice.. we would say if your lovely baby is happy, and he/she does catch up with their development stage, although the BMI (body mass index) of your baby is not a negative result (under weight), we won't worry too much. As I did said, nowadays in usa.. we care more about obesity.
-3% is not a happy sign. But you do very good, as you do provide a lot of choices of food for your bb.
cheese is good.. milk.. may be need to increase a bit to 24 oz per day.. (24 oz is maximum, as more than that make link to constipation), oatmeal.. good, also you can serve it with milk. egg.. (but yolk only).. for the blood formation... cookie is important, a good source of calories. Yogurt, as I do recommend yogurt if your bb can tolerate, because the calories of 4 oz yogurt is equal to 16 oz formula (frest daily milk)... see if your husband are chinese or american la.. like my husby, although he is a chinese, but he is a banana, so he let me feed Amanda with pizza.. Don't scream.. if you know.. how good is a piece of pizza for infant from above one to childhood... they got cheese, tomato sauce, meat and bread.. all of those are nutritent.. especially if your bb is under weight... 20 months bb should able to tolerate about 1/4 to 1/3 piece of pizza and a cup of juice or water.
Wow... your bb's diet is very well.. just depends on her/ him.. how much your bb absolve..
How does bb poop poop...? good? for infant, with fresh milk feeding.. 1-4 day for 1 poop poop is acceptable.
If you still concern, catch up with bb's paedi at every follow up.
I hope it's my neighbor did otherwise I feel unsecure. We report to management, but they were sure said " it should not be a stolen." " Here is very safe." So, we take care ourselves law.....
My second tv packing in the garage. Now only one small TV in the living room, so I did not watch " Big long gold" daily. It is because the "Sesame Street" in the other channal. I just turn channal 18 a few minutes to see see ja..... If bb napping in that time, I will watch, ok.....
Thanks your information. I give cheese every day, she loves eat. We bought different shape and brand cheese to bb. Sometimes, I bought the small tomato, bb also like eat.
About bb's poo poo? This is her daily job, always 1-2 times a day. She was doing very well, however; it is hard to poo poo since I change her formula after her first birthday. After then I change back her old formula. Slowly to change later. Her doctor suggested we feed her fresh milk. We tried to feed her a few month ago until now. Every time she poo poo, she looks so pain. I also heart pain. We ( husband and I ) always hold her hand and add gas with bb.
Thanks for your information..
We just bought the new bed at Sit 'n Sleep about 2 months ago, the foam of the mattress just likes NASA, weight sensitive material.. But my little boy is active bb, he will try to roll over no matter how hard it is..You know after rolling over, he will crawl, so the accident occured ...
My husband always says to me , I got a tiny little brain. ....
Natmama,
My husband won't listen to me whatever I say, he will speak back if he doesn't believe it. ..
Mrsyip,
I just got a chance to read your story and I'm glad that you are ok & relax now.
All moms,
I'm worried about my bb son. He turned 11 months old on Chinese New Year Day. Compare him with my daughter when she was about the same age, bb son's skills developement is so much slower than my daughter. He doesn't crawl, he can sit and play for a long time. He can't self-feed bb cereal, he grabs it and plays with it but "asks" us to put another one into his mouth. Babysitter said he is just lazy! ?-(
My daughter started walking on her own at about 15 months. But she could crawl before 10 mos.
When I decided to quit my job, I listed out how much I need for each month so my husband gives me a set amount for "house $". That way, I know exactly how much I have to work with. For the remaining of his paycheck, he will take care of mortgage, and other essential expenses and keep the remaining in the bank. If I need additional money, then I swip his credit card and he will take care of it. Til today, we do not share any bank accounts. I like to have my own money so I can play around and invest
Thanks you as well! Just wait the worker to repair the door tomorrow.
When we live in our former house, my bb used to play herself in living room without me. I can do my chores in kitchen and computer room by freedom. My bb walks to see me and smile and back to her play room. This situation is change since we move a new place. From big house move to small apartment, I also not used to this situation in the beginning. Temporary home is that... I don't want move again only live 4 - 5 months. Last time, we already spent a lot of money for moving. Additional, move is a trouble work.
Thanks! yes, only scare no hurt ! Lucky lucky!
When is your move date? Do you book moving truck? How many miles from your former home to the new home? We booked last time, they have 3 mans to help. From morning 10am to 7:00pm. We paid $ 700 - 800 ( forgot ) and they did not have enough room to move all our stuffs. We also rent a pick up two days. $140 That afternoon was a big raining. It seemed a very serious moving. Everyone was wet!
About your bb son. Don't worried about his develop. It always depend on his character. Bb boy and bb girl are also different. I have a HK friend, her son walk very late ( after 1 yr-old ), but talk is fast. My bb girl walk in her 1 year birthday and run in her 13 month-old. My bb did not crawl much and walk more. She eats food by herself. roll-over, sit, stand , crawl , walk and run by herself. My bb don't like I help her at all. I think your bb son is ok, just take his time.
Mrs Yip,
About the obesity, check another forum.. easy to chat as here... pages too much, hard to check message..
About the poop poops, fresh milk is easier for bb to digest, but then the nutrition is lower than formula la.. but also full fat milk's protein and the fibre there are not easy to digest for an infant under 2 years old ... so, we have to set the limit, no more than 24 oz at day.. just suit in your case, other moms.. aware of it.. ok? Also increase other fluid intake, such as water and juice, fruit with good source of fibre, and good for baby too.. if bb would like to eat banana (the short one), or prune.. that are rich in fibre and easy to digest. Also.. oatmeal is thick fibre, and rice cereal is thin fibre, may think about to introduce it too.
小肥佬,
did you put the mattress over your bed, or on the floor? if the space is big enough, mattress on floor is much safety.
meeemeee,
it is fine, believe us, I was a child care worker in hk, now is almost 12 years la.. boys' developmental stage do slower than girls, so don't worry about it. Amanda walks on her 1years old, run at 13 months, her cousin ( a boy) 16 months, only sit, sometimes crawl.. so? he only able to stand by with assist. But he will walk, we know.. Infant's developmental stage are all different, everyone is individual, all the web site said .. is just for an idea.. so Don't need to worry about it, once your son is ready, he will stand up and walk. like switch on the light .. just a "click".
Marble,
Thanks for cheers me up... I can't believe that I can get pass all of those.. as the most horrible part which I did not tell at all.. one day, when I got my chinese writing board.. tell all of you, how horrible I've gone thru from June03 to May 04 and the horrible thing on Amanda at last father's day..04
cheers up... move soon, right... ? where are you going to live.. I am not good at American map.. so, hum.. I still wanna know .. hee hee
Natmama,
oic.. me--> money.. for me .. for family lor.. me--> no good at investment..
also, I don't like to go out and shop, everything I go out of my door with purpose.... like Amanda's milk runs out, Amanda's diaper runs out.. our food runs out.. amanda has no winter or summer clothes to wear... otherwise, I stay home, go online, study and play with amanda at home..
Believe it or not, some babies never crawl and instead move straight from sitting up to standing. Don't worry...The research shows about when the baby learn to walk : 8-9 months (17%), 10-12 months (75%) , 1 year and older (8%).. One of my cousins who could walk after 3 years old, now he's a smart guy and got a great job... .... maybe you can seek some ways to enhance your bb's developmental process.. Don't forget, every baby is unique...of course, if your instincts tell you have something wrong with your son, you should talk to your ped right away...
Natmama,
I think I will make the congee for my boy after he's 7-8 months old..I know some bb food with meat , like turkey.. Maybe you should try it , and let me know the result...
Nillie_Mami,
My place has enough room for the mattress, but I don't think I will put the mattress on the floor because mine is california king size.. It's not easy to do it...Now he will sleep on the floor with the towel, I think that will be safe enough..
whalebb, natmama, mrsyip
Do you guys watch "大長今" ? 我覺得唔錯呀...我睇完之後, 我覺得自己對住sister-in-law 講國語,都大胆咗..
Little Fat Man, Nillie_Mami & Mrsyip,
I will discuss my concerns about bb son with the ped. at his 1 yr. old well check next month.
BB son started talking very early at 7 months. His first words were " Dad Dad" & "Ah_yeah"(my father-in-law), now he calls my husband "dad_dy & ba ba", me "ma-ma", my daughter "Ah_Jea", my M-I-L "Maa-Maa", "Ah_Yeah" my F-I-L. "Nan_Nan" (pretty), "Mum_Mum" (food), "Nine_Nine" (formula). About 1 month ago when he woke up in morning, he yelled from his crib, "Dad Dad, Nine Nine!" Both my husband and I heard that very clearly and we were sooo happy!
You are very good girl becuz you only shop when you need to. I love to go out and walk around even if I have nothing to buy. Sometimes I'll take Natalie to the local mall and ended up buying something for her. I feel too lonely at home and I want Natalie to see more people. Maybe that's why she is quite friendly and will smile at the sales people when they play with her. :-P :-P
Little Fat Man,
I watched couple epidsodes of the korean drama. I think the little girls act very well. I gave Natalie some chicken noodle bb food yesterday and she liked it a lot. She was able to eat 2/3 of the jar plus 5 oz. milk afterwards. Maybe the congee is too flavorful for her becuz my grandma didn't know and added a little salt.
