The management check my door this morning ( 8:30am ) and come back to repair it at 10am. Now is done. I request him to change both of my lock in sha door. He changed all of them. Now is happy again!

Your bb son is smart in speak. Someone said if speak first, it maybe walk slow. So, no worried la.... Of course, you must discuss with your bb ped when bb check up.

Same same... I like to go out and shop in the mall and look around even though only window shopping. I like to touch the stuff and try clothing before I buy. However; I am lazy to go outside by myself after I gave a birth bb. If husband with me, I love to go anywhere. :-P

that is good............. take the nap on the floor when you believe that you will leave the room... Cal. king size ... wooo... too big... ha ha...
When amanda was 4 months old, finally my husband agreed to move from his bro's home and rent a apartment at 18th Ave at Brooklyn.. I put the 3 blankets on th floor for amanda to sleep

because paedi said that sleeps on the floor is safety.. and better.. now, we move to staten island at this house, we put a mattress on the floor for amanda's day nap.

I do not have mood to go shopping mall by myself.. really because I gave birth... my heart is at home... with Amanda.. even I go out with Amanda, still in a hurry to go back home..
But if I go with my husby, then I love to walk... just only because my husby with me!

ADD GAS LA ...... What is your major? I dare not take any class right now, it maybe later. When I pregnancy I only took one class in the evening. ( 4 nights, including one night in lab ) and many tests. When in the class, my bb kicks me in my tummy. BB seems hear class too! ha...

If you put bb in the floor nap, put thick pack because floor has wet air. It is not good for bb.

My major is nursing lor... going to take the verification license exam soon!!!
So this period.. study, study and study!!!
After got the license, my husby said.. the present is.. allow me to join the beauty club in china town, to keep fit/ loss weight.. as my friend, a nurse will get married with my husby's friend at end of this year.. my husby said that he would like me to spend half year to loss some fat from my tummy wor..

Yup yup, as you said about the wet air.. amanda baba (my husby) bought the NASA mattress for amanda to take her day nap lor.. a normal king size, so it is pretty good to cover the floor.. She loves to sleep on it.. it is the same kind of mattress which Little fat man bought for mini-matt lor :)
before hand, when we rent a apartment, I put 3 blankets on the floor.. now.. it is good to have the mattress because we use the bamboo floor, so floor is cold..

Tuesday is actually better for me too becuz we are going out to dinner with friends tomorrow nite and I don't want natalie to go out too much in one day. Okay, see you tues 1:30pm at curry house?!

We are so bad becuz it's our 3rd time trying to get together...

It is quite hard to try on clothes with the baby around. I always grab my sister or cousin to go along if it's a weekday. On weekends, the malls are too crowded and I only go if I need to buy something.

We usually like to go out and eat on the weekends

I guess he should be speak something wrong in his phone topic, so he was disappear suddenly. ( just I guess ... ) When he was in HK radio, I already listened. From his first day in a same program in HK until his final night ( he argued with HK radio and suddenly cancel his job, but another DJ replaced in the same program. ) are also ok.

I only go to Target by myself because the store is one block from my apartment. Sometimes, if I want to try the clothing I will go to big fitting room with bb stroller together. The staff always understand and let us enter the big fitting room. In these few days, the V-gifts have a 50% off. ( compare Wal-Mart, I like Wal-Mart more ) but I do not find Wal-Mart in my area.

amanda's nanny is a live-in nanny, she lives here everyday even weekend.. as she has a big fight with her mom and all family members.. you know.. the kind of problem which we always deal with.. husband doesn't earn much money, but migrate here with her and kids.. finally he went back to Macau, only she and her younger son stay in new york.. as her mom asked them to move.. she has no way to go.. so when we have the interview with her, she does show us that she really needs this job. She is a ("mean" "dean") chinese.. the place close to Thailand, and indonasia. And she growth up in macau, so speaks good cantonese.
I ask her, once Amanda growth up and goes to pre-school, she has to start to teach amanda Mandarin la.. because Mandarin is good.. My husby said..
When Amanda turns 6 years old, then time to learn spanish.. as my husby's staffs are spanish... good good good..
Amanda stays upstair with her nanny at day time. I only go upstair to do the potty training (toilet training), and give amanda a bath.
As potty training, and bath are very important care for infant, I don't let nanny to do it..
1. because incidents occur 90% .. relate to water.. no matter ...--> burn in bath room, fall into the toilet bowl, pour hot drink to infants' body... So.. Bath time.. only I can take care of it.
2. to make Amanda knows that the different between me and the nanny, is.. nanny is someone who only plays with her and feeds her.. but not other things else.. (that is why 99 can't understand, Amanda only wants me and my husby if she has choice)
3. potty training is link with infant developmental stage.. (behaviour development).. to prompt a positive environment to Amanda, poop is good, not dirty, and smell. Pass gas/ air is normal. When the needs come, no need to hide.. just tell and go to bath room. Praise when pass peepee or poop poop, say "byebye" to peepee and poop poop. Flush toilet together, and finally wash hand with soap and sing a song..
Also, bed time, I am with amanda as well... she slept in her crib,sometimes, I slept on the floor with her.. sometime, I left.. hee hee.. slept with husby..
Everytime, I leave the room when she is awake and ask her.. say (nitenite) to me, then ask her to show me .. how to nite nite.. then she lies on her bed.. (bad thing is she only love bottom up.. BUT she is too old to worry about SIDS), hold her pooh buddy, and snore.. :)zzzzZZZZZ

Hello all,
How are you? Long time no see! I have been quite miserable fighting with my morning sickness those days, and have been off the "rice" for many days already. I tried a lot of different methods already, but... sigh... One thing for sure: mine is a chick bb, as he/ she likes only chicken soup, chicken wings, and eggs!

Today I had bad headache and bit of stomachache too... hope all these uncomfortable feelings will be gone soon....

I think my tummy starts to show, although it's only the 6-7th week. All my pants do not fit any more except one! My sister asked me why I accumulate fat so fast!!

To all new US mom,
Got no chance to say "Hi" to u all. Here it is

Want to ask u how to make the tuna filling for sandwiches? I tried mixing canned light tuna (as recommended by the doc) and Kraft ranch dressing, but it's too "watery". How to make it more creamy, like the one sold in bakery?

I read your story. Hope u are OK by now. Try to keep your local police office's no. handy (i.e. not the 911 but a phone no. with your area code) , that will link to the police much faster just in case.

Happy moving! I think we will move to a bigger apartment also, but need to wait until March/ April... even by then I don't think I can help much, so my hubby will be the poor one packing and unpacking!

Thanks for telling me about 大長今. It's now my "spiritual food" everyday la - because not much "real" food down the stomach! Too poor that we cannot receive the radio 1430 here very well.

Hi! I read your message and learn that u are preparing for your exam, add oil! I am an audiologist and have passed the exam here already, and am in the process of applying the cert. Add oil together la! When u take your exam, check if there is an allowance for "first language not English". Last time I applied for it and they gave me 50% more time to do the test!

If yr girl is still trying to eat the mud whenever she sees it, you might wanna ask the doctor to check for her iron level. My boy also had the same problem when he’s abt 17-18m. His iron level was completely fine at 9m check-up, but it dropped to the borderline of the normal range at his 18m check-up, So the doctor told us to give him iron supplement for 3 months, but thanks God that his iron level’s jumped up to the high end of the normal range after having taken iron for 1 month only.

Are yr bbs twin boys? Great job! It’s pretty good that they’re on the 25%-tile for weight. my bb’s weight was only abt 10%-tile but 90%-tile for height (so very skinny) at 1 yr (although he was born at 75%-tile for weight), mainly becoz he got sick twice (chicken pox at 3 1/2 m and bad coughing at 5m) before 6m old. Then he lost his appetite and became a picky-eater. Our part-time helper joked that he only has growth in wisdom but not much in weight.
Bbs usually gain the most weight the first 4 to 6 months and then the 2nd half of the yr not as much as 1st half of the year. Expect even not much weight gain in the 2nd yr (usually abt 5 lbs only, even for my friends’ bbs who were very heavy in the 1st yr).

Thanks! I think BB son should be fine.
We have Brenda's Music Cafe once a week at the Sing Tao Chinese Radio Station. Ha, She is so professional and has a very nice voice. Makes you feel so comfortable & relax. All the DJ here in the bay area are pretty bad! They should learn the skills from Brenda.

Let me share a sweet sweet story with you all! Both my husband and I went to pick up our daughter from school on Valentine's Day (she's in Kindergarten). It was raining pretty bad and I was sick (sore throat & cough) so I decided to stay in our van. They came to the van with a brunch of Valentine's Day balloons. My husband told me that the staff was selling the balloons & cookies for fundraising. Our daughter saw the heart-shaped balloons and asked Daddy if she could buy a set. Daddy said no and held her hand to leave the building. Our daughter said to him that she really wanted to buy them for Mammy and would like to pay Daddy back the $ when she's home (she has a big Plastic Coca cola bottle w/ $ in her room). She said to Daddy," Mammy is sick and she must be sad because she has to sleep alone and couldn't sleep with Daddy (I've been sleeping in my daughter's room while I'm sick and daughter sleeps with Daddy in our Master room). I wanted to give mammy these balloons and make her happy. My husband was touched and paid $5 for 3 tiny balloons. I was so touched and felt like I was the most lucky mom in the whole world to have such a sweet daugher! :-P

You’re luck to hv a good nanny … Since bb’s 4m old, I’ve tried looking for a full-time nanny (live-in or non-live-in) but unsuccessful so far and I almost gave up. A pretty good one had worked for us in the mornings only (she wanna stay home w/ her kids after school) but she quit in a few weeks. I guess most likely she found another bb whom is easier to take care than ours.

Just curious how much TV do u let Amanda watch every day … ?
When do you plan to send her to school?

Btw, my 99 was also a nurse in HK. However, she hasn’t been hands-on for quite a while since she was the DORN (if I say it correctly) in the hospital. So, probably u would understand how tough it is for me … sigh … sometimes I felt like she just treated me as if I were her staff.

Is yr girl’s pediatrician Chinese? It seems like the Chinese pediatrician (esp. the traditional/older ones or who didn’t get their MD in US) usually will tell u to start feeding bb solids starting from 4 months old (2 times a day) and increased it to 3 times per day starting from 6m. However, most American pediatricians recommends solids starting from 6m.

Little Fat Man is right! I also know someone’s boy skipped the crawling and went straightly to walking stage. Also, one of my friend’s boy just started to crawl very late (like almost 1 yr old and then walk starting from 15m+). So, don’t worry!
Actually I always told my friends that it’s better for bbs to crawl or walk later – less accidents and easier to watch them; they’ll walk sooner or later anyway.

Pls don’t worry or feel guilty abt mini-Matt’s fall. I felt so guilty and couldn’t sleep the night that he fell from his playpen when he started to stand up at 7 ½ months old. I told my hubby to lower the mattress the night b4 the accidents but he didn’t hv time to do it. Surprisingly, our pediatrician told me that he should be alright as long as it’s not a long fall (12 feet!!!). I’m not sure if that’s with the carpet or without?!
